  1. I will take one. Live in Locke, can pick up this week. PM me or call to set up. (607) 351-1262. Sent from my C811 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. I have had that happen more than once. Almost T-boned another boat once too, while she was taking pictures. When fishing with your wife, it is probably best to use an actual auto pilot!
  3. In case any one was thinking about it, using your wife as an auto pilot is a very bad idea!
  4. How tall is it? Can you post a larger pic? The thumbnail is pretty small when I open it.
  5. Fished last Friday with Dj717, we took a young teenager out with us. Very impressed with his patience, although he was looking a green first thing in the morning. Had a great day on the lake in spite of slow fishing. He caught a 6 lb. steelhead, and I landed a 8 lb. skippy King. We lost a few others, including a screamer on a dipsey, fish straitened the hook. Fished from 6 am till 2:30 pm. Covered water from 180 to 330. Most action was in 270 to 320. Fished on Sunday with Dj717 and our buddy Tommy. Once again had a slow day, but enjoyed ourselves. Lake was flat calm and fishing was pleasant. We trolled from 6:20am till 3:30 pm, and covered water from 170 to 650. Tommy landed an 8.5 lb. Walleye in 243 FOW, on Nuclear Green free slider on rigger set to 100 ft. Lost a fish in there as well. Landed a skippy King out deep on a rigger, and lost two. Trolled in and picked up a 22 lb. King on a rigger set at 120 on a wonderbread stinger min 490 FOW. Dennis may have already posted a report on the two days of fishing, sorry if I am doubling up reports. I am heading up on Sunday morning with my buddy Gary from Queensburry, and hopefully Dennis and/or Tommy. I have been hearing that the fish are starting to move into 200 FOW or less. Any reports or info. would be appreciated, especially down temps. I will be on channel 72 and have a blue StarCraft Islander 220 with a blue canvas top. If any wants to try working together and sharing info, I am game. Good luck to everyone, have a great weekend, and be safe. Dave
  6. Fish-on gave me some Berkley Vanish 10lb. I ran a couple leaders with it yesterday. Knots seemed to hold up ok, I did lube the line up heavily before I pulled them tight. That said, I never caught a big fish on one of those leaders. I tied all my leaders to barrel swivels and never have trouble. They do tend to be a collection point for fleas, and cotton. We did get some fleas over the weekend, not too bad but they were there. Overall, I decent weekend on Cayuga. Saturday was a little slow. Went 7 for 12, with a 5 lb. Brown on a Dirty White Boy down 46 over 96. Other than that small Lakers and Salmon, mostly on spoons off riggers. Fished 70 FOW to 325 FOW. All fish came between 90 and 125 FOW. Lost one nice one on a Dipsey, with SD and fly. Sunday was a better day, went 17 for 21. Most of the hits came on a 300 copper with a mountain dew hammerhead and chicken wing scorpion. 75 to 90 FOW. Landed a 7 lb. and a 5.5 lb. Laker off than rig and lost 3. One was a good one lost it 50 ft. behind the boat. Also got a 18 inch Bow and a couple Salmon on a Nuclear Purple Scorpion down 32 ft. on a rigger. Fished out of Long Point, got fish from the park all the way North to the bluff. 1.8 to 2.2 mph seemed to be the best speeds. Good luck to everyone, hope that was a helpful report. Dave
  7. Little Crappie, good for you! I hope you enjoy it. Glad to know there is another new Islander owner out there. Good luck with it. We are heading to Ontario this weekend with mine. Can't wait!
  8. Finally got my 220 Islander in the water today. Everything ran great! The wife and kids realy enjoyed the boat, and I even got to fish a little. 2 LL on the riggers. 42 feet down over 90 feet. Both came on a stinger, Kevorkian. Both measured 17.5 inches, half and inch short on Cayuga. Not bad for only and hour on fishing. Only snag of the day was my transom plug was broken, and of course no spare. Fortunately another Islander owner was at the dock and was nice enough to offer me a plug. I left it in the back of his truck with a thank you note and a $10.00 bill after we were done on the water. Very happy the boat ran and performed as well as it did. Can't wait to get to Ontario. After today I can honestly say "I love my Islander". Hopefully she brings me many years of enjoyment and good fishing.
  9. rolmops, thanks for the advice. Hopefully this chore does balloon into a real pain in rear. If there is flatation material under the floar, is it easy to find from a marine store, or is it a specialty item?
  10. Fish-on, I will agree about the floor rot. My 22 foot Islander has a soft spot in the floor on the right side. I noticed it last week while mounting downriggers. The previous owner had cut a small drain hole in the floor in the back toward the transom. Probably wasn't the smartest idea. It doesn't look too hard to repair (or at least I hope it isn't), I wish I had noticed it before I bought it. It is not too bad yet, but I wanna get her fixed before it turns into a real problem. Can't wait to take her out tomorrow, had her for 3 weeks, and still have not been out! Any advice you have on the floor would be welcome. Thanks again for those lures you gave me, I past a few of them along to Dennis. Dave
  11. There is a 4th one listed in VT. Only posted a couple days ago. 1995 19 ft. with 3.0 Mercruiser. Has everything for Lake Ontario fishing. It's listed for $13,500. Beautiful looking rig, based on the pics. Had I not just bought mine, I would be calling the guy myself.
  12. I just looked at craigslist VT, wanted to see the one Adk1 mentioned. I didn't see it on craigslist. There are a couple other Islanders for sale. They both look like nice rigs. You may wanna check them out.
  13. Yeah it's in good shape. I am very pleased to have her. I got it exactly one week after he posted it. I first contacted him the day he posted it. Boats can go fast! if you like one, jump on it! If I see one listed, I will let you know.
  14. It might have been. It was on craiglist watertown, the boat was located in Sandy Creek.
  15. I bought a 1995 220 Islander with a 135hp Mercury a couple weeks ago. I paid $9k for it with a dual axle trailer, 2 Big Jon side mount planer masts, GPS/fishfinder, VHF, Stainless downrigger track, soft top with sides, snap on mooring cover, and 2 otter boats. The boat is in good shape for a 1995. I have not had it out yet, but we are planning on it this weekend. I can't wait to try her out. It is a very roomy boat. The outboard is mounted on a gilldrive, so the back of the boat is wide open. I think she is going to fish real nice. The cuddy has more room than I thought it would. My 4 year old loves it! I tow it with a 2013 Toyota Tacoma V6. It is an easy towing boat, much nicer to tow than my 1999 Trophy 1903 cc. I am glad to hear so many people like their Islanders. Weekend needs to hurry up and get here.

  17. Good eats Dennis! I used perch, but I think it would be a good use for Lake Trout. Paired well with a good Pale Ale. Thanks for the recipe.
  18. That's a good name Dennis, and very fitting. You have inspired me to name my rig. I was thing about calling her the "Catastrophy". What do you think?
