We have not had a single one in the boat in our 5 yrs on lake o but we did see a 20 lb king with one
On him jumping out of the water trying to shake it off. We have also caught a few kings with the scars

Home Port:bluffers
I fish for:pike in spring kings in summer musky in fall.
Hi everyone. I have been on lou for a while
But i have not introduced myself so here goes
As it says up top i ride with my good friend
Chris in his 20 footer. We have been fishing
Together for over 12 years now. Although i
Am a little more obsessed he is always up
For getting on the water. Since it is his boat
I try to put the money and time into the
Gear so he just has to drive. We have been
Fishing kings on lake o for 5 yrs now and are
Hooked for life. We have yet to enter a winner
But have been real close and are happy with
How we have performed. We always release any
Fish that is willing and try to be respectful on
The water even if it is not returned. I love this site
And its helpful members and am always happy
To share what i know. If you see us at the launch
Feel free to say hi and ask whats what because we
Like to trade stories. Good luck and tightlines. John

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
==============
We started at 5.30am and got a couple little ones early on the rigger,
my buddy got a 27 lb on the king of sting with a glow sd at about 8am
and the bite was slow for a while after that seeing a couple nice steelies.
after lunch we were back in the heat and around 4pm the downrigger with
the meat goes off, i grabbed the rod and held on as this fish almost spooled me
but some drag tightening and luck turned him around. i got him about 20ft from
the boat and we could see he was huge compared to the 27 earlier. He was just
crusing in when at about 5 ft from the net the flasher came out of the water
and somehow the hook just shook loose, i had tension on the line but the big
spinnie gave an inch of slack and he was free.i have never seen a salmon that
big and my brain was already cashing the cheque for new riggers and he was gone.
after some choice words we went back to work getting another 26 lb before the
lightning chased us home. ive lost big fish before but not ones that were worth
money so this one will hurt for a long time but at least we know we are doing something
right to see him in the first place. good luck and tightlines.

We always have at least one meat
Rig down deep and we always see
A lot of fish on it of all sizes
Most of our bigger ones come on
Dipseys with spoons, lymans or flies
However the only monster we have
Ever broke off came on the deep meat
Good luck

started out fairly calm around noon but the wind and chop picked up through
the day.we had a lot of hits spread out through the day but nothing over 20-21lb
6 bows 6 kings and a coho at the end. the 48 - 52 degree temp was up way higher
but the big ones were hiding. the meat was killing it, taking most of the hits

thanx guys i just want to make sure that mr big wont be scared off by a little flash
-
hey guys, I have always used a flasher on every rigger and every dipsey
is there any particular baits or setups where a flasher will become a deterrent
for chinooks. thanks

I would say that your an expert, your just to humble to admit it. How many people truly have more time to fish or more than 35 yrs experiance. I would take your salmon fishing advice as expertise.
