  1. WTG! I heard you guys on the radio! Boy it sounded like you were having a blast. We weren't hitting anything really in the morning. We got most of our fish in the evening. That Blue dolphin and Proctoligist has been really hot for us too! :) Also, the white with blue dot SD matched with the atommik blue spatter fly has been killing them on the wire down 305 on a 3 setting ;) I didn't even think of using my NBK spoon :(

  2. That is the way my last two days have gone fishing. I am hoping the lake will be a little more stable next weekend.

Weather permitting friday, sat, or sunday I'm planning on heading to the Big O, but every time I plan on it the weather tells me other wise.

  3. Again it was tough fishing for us at the start but the last two hours picked up. We ended up keeping 4 legal LL's and 5 lakers. Biggest laker was 7lbs. I lost another big one. We were just about ready to net it and the laker rolled and spit the hook :(:( but I got to see it and watch it dive back down so I was happy :D Oh I forgot. We started the day out at the launch realizing that some one forgot the cooler :@. But mom came to the rescue and met us at sheld point. She was a life saver

We hit a few different spots today with zero luck! We made our way back up the East side of above AES and picked up most of the fish there in 400 FOW. We did hit the shallows for about a twenty mins bouncing one of the dipsy off bottom  and picked up a small laker doing so. I tried real hard again to catch the Bows but I could not find them. Ran my riggers mainly at 70 to 80 down but moved them between 55 to 90 down. Used steelie stomper, chicken wing, watermelon, variety of sutton spoons, some purple stinger spoons and some other spoons that were kicking around. I did run sliders with a 6' leader. Ran my spoons 30' to 45' from the ball. Mainly fished out in 350 fow between south of AES to a little north of sheld point. I caught that 8.5lb rainbow the other day on a mtdew spinny and a proctoligist fly on my rigger 92 down but that is it for my success. :(

Heres my pics. I tried taken some more photos with what I was using. Also, a pic of my screen when we were shallow.

  4. Tough day fishing. Things did not pick up until the sun peaked around the clouds. I can't remember how many we landed but we kept 5 lakers. Biggest being 7 lbs. Caught a lot of little lakers and LL's. No bows and I was trying real hard. Lost a lot of big lakers for some reason. :( Oh well. My wife fished with us in the morning and she caught a 4lb laker. I have a pic but it is on my camera and not my phone. I will try to post it tomorrow. Did not take many photos today but here are two. Sacrificed the lead core due to a huge tangled mess to the fish gods. Also, my left rigger cable got overwrapped and a kink in it at 64 ft, so thats going to need replacing in the morning. And lastly don't have a freaken clue how this happed but the wire on my dipsys got wrapped in the gear housing inside the reel. It was an easy fix but lost a 100 ft of wire cause due to a few kinks. So with my sacrifices we made today should give us some good fishing tomorrow!:rofl::rofl:

I switched out so many spindoctor/fly combos and spoons that I could not tell you what was working. Orange, Black, and Blue seemed to be good colors today.

  5. Got out on the lake with Mom, my Uncle Dave and my cousin Mark for 6 hrs. First time for all of them to go out fishing with me. Fished my normal spot between AES and Sheld. point. The first fish of the day was reeled in by my uncle dave which was a 9lb laker. Mom caught a legal LL. Mark landed a 7.5lb laker, 4lb laker and an 8.5lb Rainbow. Finally! We caught a Bow. The Bow sure put on a good show by jumping out of the water several time and nearly taking out all my lines. I caught a dink laker but was happy to see everyone catching fish. The last hour and a half the lake shutdown. I will be out sunday and monday.

  6. Yes this new generation sucks and video games are a big factor but I believe the problem is more or less the government! I'm 26 and I have been active in the outdoors all my life between school, working on the farm, work and whatever else. You can't stop me from hunting and fishing. What gets under my skin is our state gov't. NY has all these laws and restrictions such as you can't big game hunt until you are 14 with a bow. You can't even hunt small game until your 12. Other states out there leave it up to your parents when you are responsible enough. If anyone knows anything about children and all the different growth stages that they go through you would know it is critical to get them involved in the outdoors early. I feel that through my life it was not till I turned 16 that I was able to really do anything with the outdoors. We need more programs out there that give children this outdoor exposure but with this state and all the liability issues it is next to impossible to orchestrate. The road we are heading down now is just going to get worse. :@
