Just got settled in, carried a stand into the edge of a swamp and set it to sit! Talk about a workout! Thick nasty and wet. Made some noise, but hope the wind blocked most of it. Spot as never been touched as long as I have hunted here. Fingers crossed... Front thick few with very little shooting lanes..... Cattails behind me.....

Harewood on the down wind side of huge thicket. Forgot my book bag with EVERYTHING in . So had to resort to rubbing mud on my face and no range finder. Did hear a buck grunting and sounded like a little chasing right when I sat down. Lookin for one of these guys! He'll the way this season going I might even have to throw one at this one. ......

4 hrs of day light and deer to be seen. Might get dwn shortly and put a little boot time in and try and locate where the hell these deer are . Although walking around during season is against my religion!

Yup its supposed to turn to SW by 10 ish. When I went to bed last night they said SE this morning till 10-11. Luckily I made it to the different stand then I anticipated hunting this morning in time. 2 deer lurking in the dark but never saw them. Love these drury mornings

One thing I think has contributed to me not see the mature deer or deer in general as much as I usually do is the wind. I don't know about everyone else but I pay attention to the wind more then the road when I am driving. On the the way to and from my stand and while on stand. This year has been absolutely horrible with the wind swirling. When you think you have the perfect set up, you sit down and 5 mins later the wind is hitting you in the back of neck. Then 2 mins later it's cutting across your cheeks and tip of your nose. It drives me nuts!! And there is nothing you can do about it.

Found out my Littlest has strep throat so I had to pull the plug at 10:30 to come home! Only a small buck showed himself this morning. Bedded down 75 yrds behind me and got up around 9:30 and came 10 yrds from me. Maybe heard me calling all morning and couldn't take it anymore? Back at it Wednesday, a big boy had to show himself eventually.
