  1. Started out of Watkins and setup just out of the canal headed up the east side... Ran coppers, cores, riggers and dipsys .. Spoon bite was the best this morning pulling alot of 1 to 2 pound salmon to the boat on small warrior and stinger spoons.. Had my son with me and he was having a blast reeling in all the little salmon .. We ran farther north and the copper fires and I hand the rod to him and he lands about a 4 pound brown.... Slowed down around 10 am ... Gonna enjoy this beautiful day and get back at them in the Morn...

  3. Launched out of Watkins again this morning and headed just a bit north and setup on the westside working the same area that we had good luck at yesterday .. Fished with a friend from high school and his father and father in-law who have seen some pics and decided they want some of the action too.. We ran riggers, cores, coppers and dipsy's ... We started off a little slower than yesterday only picking up a few small browns so decided to check out another one of my favorite holes on the south end BINGO found them, it was a steady pick of landlocks and browns all morning... We ended up 12 for 13 with some real quality fish.. The one we lost was a really good salmon that hit the rigger and peeled some drag and couldn't get the other rigger rod out of the way fast enough so he got around it and broke him self off.. Would have really liked to have gotten him the net but thats why they call it fishing and not catching... The guys decided to keep a few quality eaters, heres some pics

  5. Launched out of Watkins with a friend and his little guy who haven't done much fishing, with the hopes of getting them on some fish... Setup shop just south of the salt plant on the westside we ran cores, coppers, dipsys and riggers... It didn't take long and we had one going on the rigger that was set down 40 in 150 fow ... got that reset and the riggers cores and coppers just started firing the rest of the morning... We fished from 615am to 10 am, went 11 for 12 and ended up with the GRAND SLAM, no picture of the 15 inch bow, was in a hurry to take special care of her and return to the lake asap.... Had some big smiling faces in the boat... (that's what I love the most).. Have a different friend and his 80 year old father in law coming over tomorrow to give it a shot ...(Cant Wait)....

  8. Launched out of Branchport fishing the FLTA tourney with the intentions of running to the bluff.. Got about half way there and noticed a ton of fish porpoising and decided to set up shop.. We ran cores, coppers, dipsys, riggers, toplines and rig rods.. We got the first rod in the water and it was game on!! Lake trout fishing was crazy couldn't even barely get another rod in the water.. We ended up 47 for50 all lakers about 2to4 lbs no monsters but absolutely the best day of fishing in a long time... Big Weenie Iron Duke and Reel Hooked up fly where the hottest by far behind spin doctors on bottom, the Iron Duke fly took at least 25 of the 47 lakers... What a day !! Finished Fourth in the tourney and now second in points for the year...

  9. Team HookJaw got together and decided to give it another shot in the Avon Anglers Tourney today on Canandaigua ... We launched out of Woodville and headed north to a spot that we have been getting a few... We ran cores, riggers, coppers and dipsy's... Set up shop and went through the hole and nothing and marked nothing, we headed north a bit more with no luck and the Capt made the decision to cut across and check out the other side, Just about half way across we have a WICKED DRAG PULLING SMACK on the copper, Started the GoPro Camera up and the fight was on ... About half way through the fight Nick was ragging on me a bit at how slow I was at getting this average size fish to the boat and I told him this is not a dink TRUST ME !!! We got it about half way to the boat and the fish decided to finally show its self and the Capt's eyes got extremely big :$ LOL... We got the Laker to the net finally and it was a true Canandaigua PIG!! We finished the day soaking wet due to the rain all day we went 7 for 8 all lakers except for one little bow.. The big boy topped the scales at 12.96lbs and we won the tourney ... Slow day of fishing but got the big one... Heres the Link to the video and a few pics

  10. Started out of Woodville fishing in the first FLTA tournament of the year with the plan of running north to Vine Valley but since we were getting a bit of a late start due to crushing a deer on the way we started in the south end near white rock... We set up shop running riggers, seths, cores, coppers and top lines ... It was slow going for a bit but finally hooked up on the copper near vine valley and man was this fish pulling knew it was an off fish soon as I grabbed the rod, got it in and it was a 5lb football brown (pic below)... We fished the rest of the day and man it was slow, caught a fish about every two hours but ended up with a 5 fish box limit and ended up finishing third in the tournament, a lot better than I expected tho considering the competition in our club .. Lakers were on the bottom in 200 ft of water and you had to be aggressive to get them to fire, Browns were in 60 to 70 fow... The lake needs to set up yet and when it does it will be game on over there....
