  1. Another great day aboard HOOKJAW CHARTERS !!!! We started out of Myers on Cayuga about 5:30 am and setup shop in the middle heading North with the intention of moving in to the West shore but as we set up were marking a ton of bait and fish in the 300 fow mark 100 and up... We had 3 guys aboard who where living in the Ithaca area who where into fishing big time and were looking forward to a great day on the water and we didn't disappoint them... We started off with a shot on the 300 copper first and we handed the rod to the first client, he grabbed it and it was game on landing a 6+lb salmon .... We trolled north a bit more picking up a ton of 2 to 3 lb salmon on the riggers and some mid size lakers too mostly on the cheaters, got near Tunkhannock State Park and then the laker bite set in boating a few but a really nice 9lb laker hit the wire and on a nice run she went (very impressive run) pulling about a good 30 feet of wire before she stopped... Overall an extremely happy bunch of clients and another amazing day of fishing and again thanks Nick for having me aboard ... Cant wait til next time!!

  2. I was lucky enough to have Hookjaw invite me along to help out with a couple trips this weekend.... Saturday we had a father son duo on board from Reading Pennsylvania, we launched out of the state park in Branchport and ran south to the bluff and got setup with riggers, cores, coppers and wire .... We hit fish right off the bat,, We marked good fish all over from 150 fow to surface all weekend.. All laker bite all day think we went 16-18 but had some happy clients with some great filets for the grill... Sunday we had another father and son on the boat from New Jersey, We through the same setup at the fish we did the day before but the fishing was a bit slower but still managed to go 9-11 with another all laker bite.. When we got back in I got in contact with a friend of mine who has been fishing Keuka all week and he only managed 7 fish all week and he is an accomplished fisherman so overall I would say we had a good weekend of fishing and Nick got to try out his newly installed 9.9 Yamaha high thrust kicker which ran like a champ.... :D:D Thanks again Nick for having me on board and looking forward to next time....

  3. Got out this afternoon around 4:30 set up right out of the canal and worked the west side ... Didn't mark anything untill almost tiki bar and then the graph started lighting up with bait and fish worked the fish for a few hours picking up landlocks and tiny bows anywhere from 100 fow to 400 fow, riggers were hot with cheaters and small spoons and caught one salmon on the wire with SD with white glow fly....Cores and copper were dead for me tonight.. Fleas where horrible weeds where better... Think we ended up 9 - 12 not to bad but the fish where on the smaller size tonight at least my friends nephew got to reel in his first salmon and a few more too...

And the end to a good day of fishing...

  4. Thanks Guys it was a great day of fishing... 33canuck yeah I only saw one other boat trolling and they were fishing the east side heading south we were in a white arima hard top... as far as numbers go we fish two tournaments there every year and that's about normal fish wise for us but for some reason this spring we didn't boat as much as we usually do, think maybe the water temps being so cold screwed us up... We marked a ton of fish and bait yesterday and as long as we were in that we caught fish..Nick lakebound 88 turned me on to the tekotas while fishing with him they seem to be great reels and can't wait to put them to the test...

  5. Fished with Matt aboard his boat Skippin School III today and he brought along a greenhorn one of his ex students Jesse who I believe had never caught a Trout before today, boy was he in for a suprise .... We launched out of the south end and motored up til the drop off and set up, we fished riggers, wires, cores, and copper in anywhere from 100 fow to 250 fow but most fish where done in the top 60 fow.... We went 16 - 18 caught five lakers, 10 beautiful Bows and a Small mouth 50ft down in 200fow on a mag spoon  .... The greenhorn wanted to keep some fish so we told him one bow and some lakers but one of the other bows he caught was bleeding heavily and tore up pretty bad so we let him keep that one too... Silver was the hot color today, we didnt have any wire action at all today, riggers where on fire with a occasional core or copper fire ... It was a great day of fishing and when I got home I had a brand new Tekota 600 LC on my door step, cant wait to switch my old wire reel out with this one :yes::):) .. Thanks again Matt for having me on board....

And to top it all off this was waiting on my door step for me when I got home this afternoon.. Great Day!!

  6. Your doing a great job !! Just keep doing what your doing and it will pay off eventually ... Spring and fall is a great time to hang around the 100 fow mark but don't be afraid in the warmer months to move out as far 400 fow or even the middle and look around a little bit with your fish finder sometimes you will be surprised in what you find out that deep on the first 100 feet of the water column.... Good Luck

    Mike

  7. Good Job Nick !! Great report !! At least you got off the water before the heavy down pours and lightning... Wanted to fish this weekend but decided not due to the Italian Fest and heavy boat traffic and weather today.... Hopefully Wednesday ...

  8. Great Report!!! That is a real NICE solo day.. I'll be at it again this weekend if not sooner but gonna have to deal with lots of boat traffic in south end due to Italian fest weekend may just trailer north a but to avoid it.. Keep the great reports coming.....

  9. Fished out of Watkins hoping for the same luck I had on Thursday but water temps were screwed up a bit, caught fish but not the numbers I was getting before so picked up and headed north up west side setup shop near Glenora and fished in 200 - 300 fow caught numerous lakers Ll's and Rainbows, think we ended up with around 15 fish no monsters but overall a great day of fishing... Want to thank Justin and Steve for going along to give me a hand... Jason just so ya know Justin didn't lose one fish.. So must be its something to do with you and not him...lol..The last few times I have been out have caught a bunch of 6 inch rainbows and that is awesome to see that we are getting some natives back to the lake....

  10. Launched out of Watkins and had a great night of silver action ... Caught fish on everything but the riggers were hot tonight around the 50 ft mark.... Had a couple of guys from work on board and they had an absolute blast we were even tripled up one time and it was fun diving in and out of rods... We caught LL's, Bow's and laker's, was looking for that Brown but couldn't get it .. We ended up 15 for 21 no monsters but overall great action ... Here's a pic of Rob with one of the beautiful little Bows we were catching...
