According to skipper19's mathematical formula: 600 ft of 32 lbs will fit with 300 yds of 50 lbs pp. 700 ft with 150 yds of pp.

I run floro leaders (seaguar) for spring Browns. Or if I'm fishing the top 40 ft in clearer water. And on my junk lines. Down deep or in muddy water I don't. I was catching spring kings last month in 40 fow (brown to green tinted)...down 20 with straight 20 lbs big game. Last summer we were catching kings down 80+ on straight 30 lbs flea flicker. This was with spoons. I don't leader down when using attractors.

It depends how bad it's kinked. I had a few in a section last year that I smoothed out and thought were ok. Next time out a fish took my offering and it broke right where one of the kinks was. If you get a kink near the end cut it out.

You can also filet a part of the head off so they fit in your current set-up. Or just make strips.

I have a couple uni-trolls and I have noticed a similar symptom when cranking them up. It's the wire jumping off the spool in short spurts from cranking them in really fast. I think it sometimes gets crossed over itself. Mine haven't done it in awhile. But if you go out deep and lower them 95% and crank them back up slowly. The wire lays smooth again.

We were out there today. We fished all day from 50-180. Got one 17 lbs laker and a skippy coho. Had most stuff 20-80 ft down. A few marks early in the day in the 50 range. Rest of the day a blank screen.

13 lbs torpedo weights on cannon uni-trolls are easy to crank up and fishable to 100+ fow. The easy trolls and other models are more geared towards small lakes and light weights. You're wasting your money on those. Spend a few dollars more now to avoid making a mistake...and have to upgrade later.

It's a little late in the season for stickbaits imo. I've had my best luck with those in shallow water for Browns. If you're in steelhead territory try some red or orange spoons with a split shot or 2 about 6 feet above.

A trolling plate will slow you down. I have a troll-a-matic plate on my 90 hp Mercury 2-stroke. It wouldn't run slower than 4.0. Now I can slow down to 1.7.

You got south shore rv park or lake bluff campground. South shore is closer, but still would be a good clip to stumble home too.
