  1. You can flatline for browns but wont work for kings, wont get you down far enough. Bazookajoe's right. I would get 2 wire set ups for dipseys. 2 mono's for riggers im using fleaflicker (not familiar with P line), and at least the one copper 600 to get you started. I used braid on dipseys last year and fleas killed me.
  2. The walleye boards are sold, Thanks "troubles" and everyone else for your interest. I still have the big double planer boards they are Wille skee's.
  3. I asked similar questions with the same general issues with planers. It all comes down to weight and angle. The angle on the front of your planer board is what makes the board pull away from the boat. The deeper the board rides in the water the more surface tension against the angle the harder the board pulls. You can try to weight them better or change degree of angle. My opinion is if the board doesnt do what you want it probally never will. I tried to use inline planers for a season, then got big double planer boards, they work better but still not what i wanted. I made custom boards, they work the best. There is a blueprint on the tackle section of this site to make homemade boards its a good starter, i made a few sets and experimented before i got what works best for me. good luck.

  6. Thanks for the advice guys. looks like i may have to weight my boards or get new ones.
  7. I have the planer reels mounted high on both sides of my hard top, so they can't be mounted any higher. I wonder if i used a can of great stuff (expanding spray foam) and fill them if that would help me or hurt me.??? since they are plastic and hollow....
  8. always used inline planers for walleye. This is my 1st season for big boards. I a have set of big yellow double Willie's boards, 2 foot plus long. I am having problems getting them to pull hard enough out to sides of boat and they go slack and fall back behind boat too far. This is at 1.5 to 2mph so im not too fast, is was windy and wavy last timeout but not enough to screw up boards that bad. They do have unscrewable plugs on sides, is this to weight them? they also seem to get water in them, is the water weight my issue? If youre familiar with these hollow plastic double planer boards please give me some ways to trouble shoot my issues. Thanks
  9. If you still plan on walleye fishing Oneida I would definately get that leadcore. it works well for walleye trolling off big boards or flatlining, same goes for Brown trout. I got 4 okuma rigger rods and 4 okuma 45dx reels new in box on EBAY shipped for around $250, you cant beat that. theyre a little big for brown trout and walleye but big enough for salmon. If you can catch walleye in oneida you can catch Salmon in Ontario no problem. Good luck!
  10. Landshark, Thanks for the Planer Mast. It was a great deal. Good Luck fishing this season!
