  1. i fished sodus bay this past weekend and froms the looks of it there wont be safe ice for this weekend. i want to take my dad out for his birthday this weekend and willing to travil. just looking for some good old days time with him ya know. please help thanks

  2. ray you are very right. i to have seen my share of mis haps and only been doing this for 17 years now. i take every word to heart knowing the truth in your words. its more to the fact that i shott with both eyes open and the change in depth really messes with my eyes.there is no offence taken. more of a thanks really. i hope everyone is safe out there this year.

ps still looking for better sights

  3. i have a winchester model 1300 speed pump 20ga. with the rifled barrel. it came with tru glow sights with a little set screw in the rear sight to hold the elevation that keeps ratteling loose. i have been told by the old lady that she is done hearing me bi**h about it and its going to be my xmas. i need to find a new sight that is a little beefyer and holds alot better than what came on it. but im not sure where to find what im looking for, not to mettion im not sure if i can get what im looking for in sights for this barrel.

i know that i want the tru glow

it needs to hold up to some one who does alot of stalking

and i want the elevation screw to " click" into place

is this even possible thanks in advance

by the way im being told that i need to find what im looking for so she may take my gun to the shop and "suprise" me... should someone tell her i already know ??? :D

  4. i run a cheater spoon that is about 6ft or so going through a planer board relase, and my f/f off the ball. clip it where ever you want above the ball and drop. if a fish hits the f/f you can pull the cheater right off out of you way and if the cheater hits the fish will be behind the f/f and its out the way. this gives you a pole to do something else with( more dipsy's). most of the time if im running f/f off the ball ill run a spoon behind a little pro troll about 10ft higher off the cheater. our big problem with tangles came from putting out the inside dipsy's to slow. it just takes practis but you can get it. heck ive even put a 3rd cheater on there when i get board( not recomed less you get real board) we have a 18 ft penn and run 2 coppers(off the boards) 4 dipsy's and 2 riggers if there are 3 of us all the time

hope this helps and good luck

  5. we have been useing salt water treble's that are riffled. there a little bigger than a normal #3 but kids on the boat have had a hard time loseing fish. very forgiveing. some longer leaders might be nice to have on hand as well. we went from the fly at 22" in the early part of the season to ones that measured around 33"

  6. thanks guys!!! i have seen the sheds for sale at country max. i just dont want to waste deer anymore if i can help it. the meat feeds us great in my house and i process all my own. even got the 25# mixer this year. just trying to save and please the dog some. she loves her deer.

  7. so what would the right way to handle some @$$ within lets say 50 ft?? and not just other fishing boats but sail boats as well. i have had my share of fishing boats cut me off and the last time some one tried to do it i simply pulled my lines put my riggers to the bottom and turned out at a slight angle. he was so close in front of me that i was able to talk to him voice to voice from the bow of my boat as i brought up 2 of his dipsy's.cut his wire and then continued to fish. im sure i made my point because he has never come that close to me again. thats right fokes come be a jack wagon close enough to someone that you could hit you with a bb gun your ur asking for trouble. i try to be nice but some people just need to be taught a lesson even after you tell them exactly what your going to do and there response is " well we can fish here to". but this sail boat the other day came from 300ft flo heading on a path to cut right in front of us wile hooked up with a double(just 2 guys in a little 18ft in 120 flo) i pointed the boat northeast (from going west) trying to stay away from the sail and stay hooked up. with the boats now less than 200 ft away from each other the sail boat the turned from heading sw to se. he was so close i can tell you that the dick behind the rudder had a blue light in his hand, for that matter i could tell you all 4 different beers in everyone's hand. i could even have hit anyone of them anywhere i wanted with my red rider. i did everything from radio channel flipping, horn blowing, net waving, yelling and so on. my next step was to shoot him with my flare gun.just after he passed me he cut right back in behind me.if i had a dipsy out on that side (and this is no joke) i would have lost it. we did lose 1 fish and rod with only 200ft of line out on the counter. he ran right between me and the fish on the surface. the rod got ripped right out of my hands. this was probly the worst run in ive ever had but what can you realy do??? he was under sail power but there's got to be a line somewhere. i dont want to waste the cops time with i said he said crap it goes no where. im to the point now that im going to just run right into them and set there sail on fire

  8. not sure what swr means but looking at it i think your talking about a diffrent style of leadcore. i try to stay away from sd's but i will run pro trolls. i dont like the idea of constanst spinning on that much line out with a fish on. i think i use to run 5-7 colors. if i rember right it takes you down 35is ft. we changed over to copper. 300ft of 45# will run you down to 75-80 ft. its a lot deeper with less line outstill no sd on there but have put pt without rotator. hopes this helps
