  1. Fished from Long pt to Aurora sunday morning. Went 11/17 mostly salmon. Boated a grand slam but most were small fish. Went from 75-135 fow, did most of the fish in the top third of the column, especially the salmon. Most were on jet divers off the inlines down 25 ft. Anything copper or even gold took fish. Only 2 lakers all morning which is odd. One fish took the board BOBBER Down, but I never got to see it.

  2. I have run 10 colors off of the yellow Off shore boards as well. It would be nice if they were a little bigger, but it gets the job done. Ran them for walleyes on erie and they work well. Only thing is make sure they are set deep if you are fishing rough water, you don't want to lose them considering the price tag. I have never had any trouble with the fleas (on Cayuga), maybe due to the large line diameter? That is a good tip on the drag setting, kind of like running a wire dipsy.

  3. I put this question out on tackle and techniques and was wondering if I would get more of a response for some Finger lakes guys. Does anyone know of a good substitute for a sutton since they are out of business?? I heasrd they may be making some more, but it is just a rumor. I am especially interested in the 44's. I just got some Plasma 44s but they are an inch longer than the real suttons, and I am pretty skeptical about how they will work in comparison. Any thoughts??

  4. I have riggers, lead core, dipsys, and planers, big and small. I would like to learn how to catch fish on the flashers and flies but have never had much luck. What would be some good colors to use and how long a lead between the flasher and fly? Thanks for any info.

    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

    ====================

    Long slow day at the haven. Tried many different combos to no avail. Coho on NK NBK Steelhead on NK Purple Passion?(not sure if that spoon name is right) Laker on NK D4 copper/ tarnished copper. Only saw 2 other boats land a fish. Maybe it was being new to this, but yesterday was brutal. Anyone do well around fair haven? if so, please share! Getting up at 3:30 to go do that is not fun! :beer::beer:

  6. I was wondering if 500ft of wire with some strong backing would work for a dipsy rig? If so, what would you suggest for backing and how much? Also, what knot would be the best to attach the backing to the wire? I know putting 1000' ft on a reel is probably the best but I would like to be able to make 2 rigs if possible, since I am just starting out. As always, all info is appreciated
