  1. hey Justin,

it was nice to finally meet you last night,  we fished until around 1:30, and not an eye to be seen

bass were semi active for us we caught a couple decent fish, and one catfish that put up a hell of a fight, and really surprised me

  2. I was listening to the radio and heard a song about instant gratification, it made me thank about this post

everybody wants instant success, however that's not how it works

the big thing everyone seems to miss, from all the posts, is just how much time  you guys put in, and just how much work you guys do to get over the hurdle, if someone has 20, 30, 40 posts showing fish, don't think about the fish, think, man that guy is putting in the work, he's out there 20,30,40 nights

kevin and Justin and many others on this site, you guys give enough information, to take years and years off the learning curve, I know personally i'll never be able to repay Hermit for all he's taught me

I just want to say thank you all for sharing so much,

  3. Been good, just not fishing enough.  Trying to change that very soon.  Good luck this weekend!

    thanks buddy

the lack of fishing is not healthy, the surgeon general recommends at least 2 fishing trips a week :)

hope you can find some time, the lighthouse derby is next Saturday, at Meyers,  you thinking about getting in

  4. Nice Paul looks like fun!

Hi Alec, how have you been buddy,

it's a blast, I haven't been out much, but getting some free time now, and loving it, hit Cayuga last weekend and picked up a couple decent  lakers

  5. Justin, the topwater bite is a rush for sure, those drops and points on the west side are incredible

one of my favorite things to do, is sit outside the dropoff, pitch my jigs in shallow, and work the jig, over the dropoff

i'll definatly be out there this weekend,

  6.  You know, its funny.. I am a firm believer in being on the water while its still dark in the am.. Right around "false dawn".. However Cayuga isn't always that way.. Some days I don't get a touch  in the morning, and then get them at noon.. and about 9 am.. Maybe I should try it some late afternoon... bob

I agree, I'm a firm believer in being on the water while it's still dark in the AM, I love watching the sun come up with a pole in one hand and a coffee in the other

my wife however, isn't getting out of bed before 7 haha,  unless it's deer season,

so I get a few mornings solo, and a few night fishes in

  7. I don't run live bait on the paddle tails, it messes up the action, I do run worms and minnows on fluke bodies, they go together like peanut butter and jelly

these fish came off a ledge at 20', normally I watch the FF like a hawk, however when the whole family is there my wife steals the bow, trolling motor and control of the boat, I'm in the back untangling lines LOL

  8. I know trolling is a better option on otisco, however I never caught the trolling bug,

so Otisco jigging it is for me ,  this last weekend proved to be a good one, landed one nice walleye, and dropped another at the boat

all fish caught on 4" silver and black paddle tails

and when the walleye bite is slow, the bass will keep you busy

  9. well I finally got out jigging on Cayuga lake, and a humbling day it was

started up by AES, screen was blank until we got out around 140', and still no takers just lookers. finally started heading back south, had a few hits nothing serious

got to Myers at 11 dropped off one of my buddy's, had to get home or his wife would ground him,

I was surprised that there really was no boat traffic today, maybe 4 or 5 boats

headed back out and was able to get one of my buddies his first Laker  he was pumped to say the least, and I was happy to slip the skunk
