  1. I was reading somewhere about spraying the inside of a motor cover with bedliner or sound deadening stuff that's used for cars
  2. Lol, nice!! Hehe. My 50 was not that bad, I will probably be shocked when I see how much gas the kicker took. Working out the single tank setup now, plus the water separator thing. Do I really need one?
  3. I used to launch my boat at PC, the ramps there are sh*t!!! Please excuse my language, I used lakeview once and will never go back to PC. There is a night and day difference between PC and Lakeview
  4. so should I use these with the downrigger? And if yes-with a flasher?
  5. Yes, that is exactly my concern, I purchased a kicker yesterday
  6. Yes, that is exactly my concern, I purchased a kicker yesterday
  7. They are not long, I would sa around 25"? can't really remember. Would a torpedo tesolve some of this issue being more streamline?
  8. Sk8man, for some reason all these Tohatsu motors surfaced all over Toronto, I know at least of 3 places within "my ramp" that sell and service them. I also looked up parts on ebay for it and the are cheap and plenty. In case it ever fails- I have my 50hp What gas mileage should I be expecting from that motor?
  9. I have had my downriggers pointed to the rear and to the sides of my boat, when I pointed them to the sides my weights were wanderiing a lot to the center behind my boat. When I switched them to point to the rear they stay behind the boat all the time. Am I doing something wrong? I use a 10 and 15 pound balls, and cannon lake troll downriggers. They are mounted about 12-15" in front of the transom.
  10. Will do! I thought of using wheel bering grease, but stuff that's withstands water better makes more sense. I'm assuming my steering is mechanical and not assisted?
  11. Tohatsu-Nissan without the Nissan sticker, both Nissan and Tohatsu look the same, paid 1600$
  12. What type of grease should i use? It is a Mercury 50hp 2 stroke engine if that matters. Time to get the boat ready for the water:)
  13. Price was right, 6HP, 60W alternator, F-N-R, 25" shaft, 4 stroke, came with a gas tank, fuel line, extra plug and tools. It is also a high thrust model. The best part is the 5 year warranty:)
  14. Any of you gentelmen ever tried akuna spoons? Just found them on ebay, they look good, and looks like the quality is there... just curious, not trying to advertise anything, just looking for opinions.
  15. Silly question, but I'm new to trolling(1 year old!), when does the season open for trout and salmon fishing here on the north side? Can't wait!!!! weather has been fairly mild last few days.
  16. Had it since may last year, worked like a charm untill the sensor went, went to lowrance service +5min from my house) and got a replacement over the counter. +1 on tilting sensor Best bang for the buck, shows "speed over ground", also works in 300+ feet of water.
  17. Fill it with water and sink it.
  18. I think I found what I will get, a mercury 6Hp sail pro, it is a high thrust motor, has built in tank and a connection. For an external one. It also has an alternator. http://www.piscesmarine.ca/index.php?a=2&b=407
  19. Sk8man, glad you made it:) last year I saw a guy on an 8 ft pontoon trolling about 3km off shore and I wondered if he was ok in his head:)
  20. My boat is rated for a 90hp motor or 330lb so I guess I'm ok weight wise. I was thinking of one of those 6hp mercury motors with an integrated gas tanks
