About to purchase and older boat, with an OMC Cobra and a 4.3L engine, here are my questions.... 1. What to look for in general? 2. How readily available are parts for these dinosaurs? 3. Any general known problems with these? 4. Is the 4.3 a chevy motor? 5. Whats the best way to test it without being in the water, seller wants to put muffs on it and run it + go through gears? Thinking of upsizing, want to purchase something with a cuddy where i can stay overnight with my kid. I bought this boat last year, used it around 10 times for trolling. Since i purchased it these items were added: 1. Fuel Filter with water separator 2. Sony CD/mp3 stereo with Yamaha outdoor speakers 3. Bimini top 4. Lowrance Elite 5 fish finder with navionics card for Great Lakes. 5. Replaced Battery 6. Downrigger removeable brackets/holders 7. Standard Horizon VHF marine radio. 8. Replaced swivel jack on the trailer 9. added 4 boat guides, 2 tubes, 2 boards 10. added an aluminum swim ladder. 11. danforth compass 12. river anchor (round one) 13. 2 rod holders 14. replaced bearings in trailer last year 15. Installed LED lights. Boat comes with a 2008 Mercury 2 stroke motor, and a 2 month old Tohatsu 6 HP Sailpro high thrust with an alternator. I bought the boat from a chap who used it 4 times so hours on the motor are low. Boat has some cosmetic scratches on transom. Boat does about 30 mph at wot. I used it few times to pull my 3 year old kid on a tube last year at wasaga. Boat can be tester on the water anytime with deposit. Boat is and was stored in an insulated garage. Boat has a livewell and a bilge pump, also comes with all navigational lights. It is also unsinkable since it has foam filled compartments. Do a search on Kijiji for a Crestliner Kodiak in Ontario to find out how much these boats are worth. I can deliver this boat to BUFFALO, NY or NIAGARA FALLS on the US side. Offers please.

The small. Fish were at 10-20ft

I saw a lot of fish close to shore(40-60fow) small fish. 160 fow saw few big arches on my ff around 140 & 90. Trolling between 2-3.3

No fish! Fished from 9am-2pm, went from 30fow to200 to 30. Tried flies, spoons, sticks.

Jd, why don't you shere here? I also would be interested in your setup/ techniques.

I fish out of Mississauga, went out this year already 4 times, not a single bite. Saw some fish around 15-25 fow.

I used to troll with my 50HP 2 stroke last year, no issues with smoke etc, when using quality oil. I bought West Marine oil once, 1 gallon.couldn't figure out why everyone was caughing :)never a problem with Mercurys oil. LoL
