    Control is coming. Jan. 2021 USF&WS finalized a rule that facilitates the lethal take of 120,000 double crested cormorants annually. It will be done on a case by case basis with USF&WS approval. They have been prevented from controlling by litigation that has been tied up in courts for the last few years. As for stocking here on Champlain where I live VTF&W stocks fish as early as there is ice away from shore and they can get a pipe in under the ice before the cormorants arrive. NY side does not do this

    NY will be starting a pen rearing project on Lake Champlain this spring. Typically (I know it varies by conditions, temp etc) how long are the fish in the pens on Ontario tribs. Ballpark anyone?

    WTB Big Jon swivel mount Looking for a used and reasonably priced Big Jon downrigger swivel mount. I live in Vermont and would be willing to pay shipping

    Hope someone here might help. I have older Big Jon electrics with 5in. spools. These riggers have a different line counter spool. (larger metal spool) Talked to Big Jon and they will no longer make this part. I did locate one new one from a dealer but would like to pick up a couple more. If anyone has one or could steer me to one it would be greatly appreciated. Part no. is fc600jr85. Perhaps someone also has an older cannibalized rigger they might part with.
