  1. I too have bought many things on here and knock on wood never had a problem. A deal is a deal and should be honored as a gentlemen unless the buyer does not come thru in a reasonable amount of time and then, in my opinion the seller should keep a list of perspective buyers in order they responded and then sell to the next person. The good thing about this site is everyone is on top of something like this.

  2. I had one on my previous boat and never had a problem with handling and it did slow the boat down. The only thing I did was put stiffener braces on the back so it didn't bend. No issues with the outdrive and the boat is still in use. My current boat I have a kicker so no need for the plate.

  3. The speed at the ball will vary depending on wind and currents. That's not that unlikely to be showing those numbers if you were going with wind and currents in the same direction. I'm guessing the numbers were much the same when you turned and went the opposite direction?

  4. I had a Panther remote steer on the boat. It was hard to get used to for others and honestly it was much easier using the EZ steer with the boat steering wheel. I still have the Panther as a back up but doubt I'll ever hook it back up

  5. As I said earlier I like the free sliders but sometimes I do fix them with the Offshore stacker release. It stays on the cable when the leader/slider pulls free and the swivel will slide to the bottom just like a free slider with a fish on it. There is no clip on the line.

  6. Mounting boards are easier on an I/O just because there's nothing in the way on the back. You could still do it with and outboard though. You have some ideas here but take some time and look at different pics of boats like yours. There's a "Let's see your rigs" thread in the Open Lake Discussion. Lots of different boats pictured in it. As the saying goes there's more than one way to skin a cat. Best of luck to you!

  7. I have all my insurance, house, vehicle, 2 boats thru the same company. My Lake O boat, a 23' Baha Fisherman costs me about $300.00 a year for year round coverage in/out of the water. This has one million liability, $100,000.00 personal injury each incident, $12,000.00 replacement and $4,000.00 equipment. $500.00 deductible.

  8. I've had 2 Cummings nets for 30 plus years and for the money I don't think you can beat them. The smaller net I also use in the stream and replaced the bag 5 years ago for less than $20 with shipping. Both have extendable handles, the larger reaches 10' and has a 36" hoop, smaller reaches 6' with. 24" hoop.
