  1. Longline is correct, I just installed a new probe this year and it tells you that in the instruction. I did opt to use the thimble and snap swivel and not directly to the probe. I had no problems at all with readings. Good luck.

  2. I'm with Tim, other than the flee problem 17lb is not to light if the drags are set right and you let them tire out. I used to run straight 12lb and never broke a fish but on occasion had the dodger/flasher come back with only a portion of leader because they took the squid/fly off and that was 50lb. Of course the line has to be quality and not old neither. Good luck.

  3. I have the older riggers myself and rewired using the trolling motor plugs which are #10 wire. I used #6 wire and went off the battery switch to a fuse panel from Blue Sea at the rear of the boat. Each rigger is fused separately with 30amp fuses from that panel. These fuse panels come in different sizes for however many circuits you want.

  4. I wondered the same thing earlier this year when I rigged my new boat and did put on 4. The first times out earlier this summer i was untangling line more than I wanted to due to the currents so I picked up 2. Last times out I ran all 4 without a problem. Like was said you can't run 4 if you need them if they're not there but you don't have to always run 4.

  5. I had that exact same problem a few years ago and it was the impeller. Like was said could be blockage at or inside the intake. Either way water is not getting to the pump and should be easy fix.
