  2. thanks for the help, went to blood runs web site and checked the charts they published, seems about the only reel that will do the job is a okuma solterra, still it has only a 4 to 1 gear ratio, I wanted something faster. then I called tunas reel repair and spoke to paul, he said he would check to see if there was anything else available. ...thanks a lot guys good fishing!

  3. Nicely said Hop, your a real gentleman, I too  live in the Ovid area and look forward to meeting you in the future. I also happen to be personal friends with the 3 fellows in that boat that day, matter of fact Correy is one of my closest friends. These boys have alot of fun and take thier fishing very serously, they did a great job!!!!! enjoy your win guys, you deserve it!!  as for pokie poley or what ever his name is what goes around comes around, just saying.

  4. I love larger aluminum boats but just can not justify the money for lund boats, they are beautiful, but the money is unreal, I have owned lots of boats in my life, I still love my old 19.5 ft sea nymph, safe, simple, afforfable. lotd of good boats around, don't get caught up on a name, good luck

  6. My 17 year old grandson finally made time to fish with gramps, we were on the water at 5:30 started setting up at 60 fow and moved east. Hot bite all morning on 300 ft coppers with pro trolls and flies. Worked back and forth between 60 and 140 fow, limited on nice spring kings and cohoes with best fish at about 24lbs. Caught and leleased a dozen lake trout and a couple small steelhead. All and all a great day for the both of us, I think I might have a new fishing partner. Will post some pics if I can figure this new phone out or maybe get one of the grand kids to do it.

  7. call tom allen at atommik and tell him what your doing, he is very helpful and will give a good stsry by explaining speeds, leader length, and light conditions. he will start you out with a half-dozen seys and you can go from there good luck!,

  8. I use blacks on the downriggers and outriggers both. I learned that if I set the tension with a simple digital scale I can eliminate about all my problems. If I am fishing in a area that I think I will encounter some shakers, I'll use rubber bands with the Blacks, no question of what is going on down there.  The rubber bands also work great with the Blacks for walleyes.
