About Rooster629

  1. Most of my gear is almost all Okuma. I have not had any problems besides the Coldwater series rods. The rod is the 10'6" dipsy w/ twilly tip. First one snapped while set in a rod holder after about an hour of trolling. Led me to believe it was an isolated incident. Sent it back and they sent me a new one. Couple days ago while tripping the dipsy to retrieve it, snapped another. I don't abuse my equipment and store it indoors when not using. Called Okuma and they said they've never heard of any problems with these. I found that very hard to believe.
  2. Anyone else have issues with these rods breaking?

  7. I am looking for some advice and preference regarding rod holders. I need to purchase a few rod holders for trolling/ dipsey rods. No down riggers. Are gimbal mounts and/or tite locs good enough or do I need Bert's holders? Thanks for the feedback in advance.
