  1. thanks Sk8man but i already know about the big lakers and northerns that they get at north end. I have laker fished that lake for yrs with my grandfather father and brother who lives a mile from the lake now but thats all they fished for. My brother and i are trying to learn to catch the silver fish out of the lake now. We fish Ontario 90 percent of the time in the spring and summer. We are trying to get into the hot winter silver bite looks like we will fish the south end like everyone else. want to play with new bf flahsers i just recieved.

    do you still have these?

  4. Can you take a picture of your line setup? Were you casting or trolling? Thx

just tie on a 4 inch white or black mister twister.  we use to catch alot of walleyes casting with mister twisters in the canal under long pond bridge on the border of gates and greece.  first light and last light

  5. left the doack at 730 the plan was to troll for browns. hit the chute realizing there is 2 - 3 ft rollers from the east. I went east about 1 mile turned and started a troll back to the bay. I set a 2 rod set had a bf alpha alwife on rigger parked at 12' and ahd a black and chrome rebel minnow on the other rigger parked at 8'. I trolled all the way back to the bay and the only fish i caught was a 15" brown that never released off the ball. I pulled lines and went back into bay. I pulled back into the dock and my brother called me asking about catching perch. We quickly made a plan to meet at my dock in a hour. I got all of my big fish gear out of boat (sadly its over) ran and got minnows then my brother a d nephew arrived. We started around 1130 just east of sunken island in 20-25 ft of water but found next to nothing so to the bridge we went 20ft of water. Dropped the anchor and went to work catching baby rock bass and baby bluegills 1 after another with an occasional yellow perch and white perch mixed in. We got caught in thunderstorm so we motored back to the dock to wait it out. After the storm the wind totally quit so we never got back onto them. We moved from spot to spot but only caught a few small ones. we ended the day with a few nice rock bass and perch. my nephew had fun thats all that really matters

  6. left my dock at first light was greated by the lake with 2 fters. i tried to set lines but couldnt control boat as i was solo so back into the bay i went. ive been noticing alot of marks as i go up and down the bay so i decided to try trolling j plugs for salmon. i trolled the whole bay for about 2 hrs and didnt even move a rod. i pulled lines around 1030 south winds tomorrow so hopefully thunderstorms stay away

  7. I have two seasons on the X4 and was very pleased with the reliability. I have since upgraded to the X4D and must say that it is a great product as well.

Prior to the X4 I ran a Cannon SNT with coated cable. The nice thing about the Fishhawk is that I can run it on any rigger that I choose. This works great when scraping bottom as I can run the probe in the center position out of harms way. I can also run it on an outdown rigger and fish it in temperature if I so choose. Very versatile!

thank you for the info looks like the x4 is the way im going to go
