  1. Saturday we fished our deep waypoints from last weekend. Steady action on riggers and dipsey's all flasher fly hits, all chrome and green. Ended at 11:00 am and went 5 for 10. Sunday we went back and it was barren. Made the decision to pick up and run into 200. Fished 200 to 350 fow rest of day and ended 7 for 11 with our largest a 28.5 lb king coming at the end while cleaning fish. Majority of bites were on same flasher fly combos as previous day. However the last king was on a gator spoon on a 500 copper.
  2. We use the 3X mustads and have done real well. Today for whatever reason though we could only manage a 50% take. Not sure if its due to hardened mouths or just one of those days.
  3. We went 5 for 10 , straight out of sodus. Hard time keeping the hook in them. Largest about 27 lbs.
  4. Thanks guys. I haven't posted much since I joined the site a couple months ago, but am looking forward to sharing more in the future. This site helps a lot of people and has given us great info on where to start many times.
  5. We had some buddies from college come up to fish for the weekend and the weather could not have been better! Heard rumors of high temps down deep last Friday in Sodus, so wasn't sure what the game plan was going to be on Saturday morning. We started off in 100 ft of water and had an amazing screen, but as promised real warm water to the bottom. We worked from 120 ft to 200 ft from 5-9:30am hoping the plentiful marks on our screen would suddenly start hitting. However, it was not to be, so we picked up and headed north. Shutting down in about 500ft of water, it was not long before we hooked up with our fish about a 5 lb steelhead. Then a double with a small king and a steely. We took hits all the way out to 650ft with kings and steelhead coming on riggers, wire and copper. For 5 hrs we hammered the fish going 20 for 30 with 15 kings, 4 steelhead, and 1 coho (first good coho of year for us). Sunday was more of the same, we went straight to our waypoints in about 620 ft of water and after about a half hour it was steady action. At about noon we decided to point her at the chute and fish till they stopped biting. Honestly that never happened, we caught fish fairly steady the whole way and ended the day with a very spunky 26 lb king that almost spooled us requiring us to pull our rods and go back to get him. We finished the day 13 for 25 with 7 kings, 5 steelhead, and a gorgeous 11 lb brown. The guys couldn't have had a better fishing experience.
  6. I personally feel like a 30 pound lake trout is much larger accomplishment than a 30 pound king. A can name dozens upon dozens of people who have caught a 30 pound king, but personally don't know anyone who has caught a laker even close to that.
  7. I'm not familiar with the salmon slam. Who puts this tournament on?
  8. Sorry lost cellular capabilities. Most fish came on any spoon green, black and silver. NBK, die hard, green glow ....ect. never had a board go. Towards the end got into a group of young king up high. Finished 9 for 14. Only kings boated.
