  1. We fished the Bald Eagle Tournament today. Format is a 3 fish box. We ended with a middle of the pack box of 57 1/2lb (19+lb average). The morning bite was insane. Dipsy out 130 , and ten color did most the damage. Fished in 80-120fow for first couple hrs putting piles of 16-17 kings in the boat. As the bite slowed our spoons shut off and we never got them going again all day. We slid out and meat took right over. Dipsy out 220 and rigger at 90 took multiple shots. 400 copper took a serious shot but never stuck[emoji35]. We generated 19 bites landing 12 (10kings 1steelhead 1laker). Overall you couldn’t ask for a better day, except the lake was rocking for my little boat[emoji51].

Our biggest today 22 1/2 lbs

  2. Thanks guys. Tournament this weekend so we’ll have reports coming....... it’s been a grind lately but if you stick it out the class of fish has been great.

Side note, cheaters in warm water were on fire taking multiple majors. I have a bad habit of fishing cold 🥶 water , simply under a lot of fish. Had a friend through conversation talking about what he prefers for cheaters and bammmmm big boys on. Sometimes it’s the little things in conversations that are most important. Always keep your ears peeled and mix it your usual

  3. Thanks very much. Seriously that's super helpful. I do have a probe. I will go deeper Thursday. Is going for browns early a good idea or would you run straight first light ? Thanks again

Personally I fish kings from April 1st on. I never miss the first opportunity for the best bite. That being said moving the rods is nice. Browns have been good but that water is changing rapidly. Lakers were stacked today 90-120.
If it’s me to give someone the experience I target Kings first light at least for 2 hrs. If that’s not paning out then Lakers are usually there. Drop some cowbells and Gambler Rigs and they can’t resist. Brian is a wealth of knowledge for his project to get someone dialed in. There’s tournaments this weekend so slot of people will be tight lipped

  4. Hate to sound like a broken record but don’t fix something that isn’t broken. Last chance to get my father and and Uncle from out of state on big kings. Last night the PB kept getting beat and 20lbs was the goal for today. We set down in 150 pointed north to our waypoints and immediately started getting bit. Gold 42nd, Carbon 15, and geysers on cheaters all taking fish at first light. By 8 our bite slowed down . The riggers got quieter but the dipsy pulling flys took over. We basically circled the 200-300 fow all morning taking mature fish on the hr like clock work. Overall it was Grindy but the class of fish made up for it. Between last night and this morning trip we took 7 majors up to 25lbs and handful of teens and small steelhead. Unfortunately I have to buckle down and get back to work.

    Tight lines everyone

  5. Quick run with an Uncle from out of state who’s wanted to go for Kings with me and my dad. We fished the same waypoints that have treated me good for the past couple weeks. Focused 200-250 fow but took fish as low as 120fow. Everything went including matures smacking the cheaters on the riggers.

Little nervous with the North blow Sunday but not much changed and if anything Inside warmed up in a good way.

We’ll be back out in the morning again
