  1. Launched out of Wilson around 9:30-!0:00am for the first trip of the year, had my daughters and a buddy.  We stayed inside 20ft of water looking for browns, 1st time targeting spring browns so I was looking for warmer water and stain, found some 42-43degree water west of the break wall and worked in and out of that, we ran a fire tiger jointed rapala of a in line board, a black and silver rapala off another board and sent the riggers down with a variety of colors.  Hit a really pretty brown around noon on an NBK spoon trolling between 1.9-2.3 mph.  Only the second trip out since I've owned my Sabre and I already miss my old controlking (should have taken off the old boat prior to sale!).  Overall boat shook out well, have to track down a fuel issue to my kicker but other than that good to go.  Kids had a blast, and a great day on the water back in aroun 1p.  Tight lines,

  2. Drain it unless your hood at rebuilding carbs. Imo I would drain the tank, line, and carb. Then stArt fresh. I drained 25 gAllons of bad gas last year thAt was bad within a week of purchase, the gas delaminated my fuel lines, clogged the carbs, and nearly left me stranded. Ethanol free is now the only way for me. Don't be me and learn your lessons the hard way everytime.

  3. Send me a private message and I will share some secrets with you! Should be ok fishing from the wall at olcott or Wilson. I usually run 30lb power pro on a spinning rod and chuck Cleos in 2/5 or 3/4. Also spinners are great, and you can ofcourse hit a variety of species. I see people shore fishing the lower niagara at Devils hole. I have never done it as the river intimidates the hell out of me. Be careful down there if you go and check to see what time the power authority increases the water flow. Good places near buffalo to try are Scoby hill dam, eighteen mile creek at south creek and lakeshore (dec access) or fish from the rocks at sturgeon point. In and around the small boat harbor and outer harbor are good spots for bass as temps warm up. Break wall at Cattaraugus creek is another good one. Make sure you get your license and have a blast prospecting. Good luck.

  4. I would rebuild the carbs being extremely careful to clean out all of the small orifices. Post clean up and rebuild use ethanol free gas only. Best of luck, my old boat had a 90 yammy that did the same thing.

  5. Take your multi meter and check dc voltage at each rocker. There is usually one power wire in that harness that feeds the switch panel. If there is no voltage at the rocker (which there shouldn't or else it would work) follow that power wire. There is likely an in line fuse on the red wire at the battery. Also take you meter and check your ground to make sure it is good as well.

Worst case run a new hot and ground from the battery and feed the switch panel from those.

  6. Agreed. Would like to see Hamburg beach and Woodlawn both opened up for access. Sounds like sturgeon point is same as SBH during peak times? Any issues with theft, boat security etc? I guess Erie basin would be an option as well. But I like stuf eon points central location better.
