Over 25 charters went out of Henchen's this morning gotta be reports somewhere.......
I could see boats in the trench from the beach today. Don’t know if that means anything, but like you said... there’s gotta be reports after yesterday and today.

There were rollers from the previous day(s) but they were flattening out as we trolled. Hasn’t been bad for a few days now, couldn’t get out though.

I was out Monday morning. Temps were definitely weird due to the winds from the week before. Landed to lakers and lost a king on 450 copper, broke the knot at the swivel! Ugh. I didn’t check the trench. Started south of the finger and trolled southerly towards the plant. 44-48 degrees down 110 once we found it in 140-150 fow.

The wall is out in the shipping lanes, west of gallo island. The trench runs between stony island and out a bit. The top of the circle in the pic is running through one end of it. It continues NE in the pic.

There’s no correlation due to subsurface currents. Some days your doing 1-2 mph more or less on the surface compared to down below.

I had it 2 summers ago. If it’s caught early and you get on the antibiotics it’s rare there will see lasting effects. I have a buddy that’s had it 3 or so times. He swears by asking the doc for an extra round of antibiotics. I was on doxycycline for 3-4 weeks and asked for another round. Doc complied and I was fine afterwards. Took all summer to get through the meds. Also, if you’re on doxy... it will cause your skin to become sensitive to the sun and burn in the sun. I wore long sleeves and pants in the boat. The backs of my hands got super red and scaly, I had to get some thin fingerless gloves for them. Good luck. Feel better.

We caught some Kings short of the finger on Monday. Best water was 90-100 for us. 60-88 feet down. A buddy was out today and picked some up at the finger and beyond. Fishing 80-95 feet down.

Went out of Stony this morning and headed towards the finger. Saw marks on the graph in 70ish fow and sent the FishHawk down to check temp. 53 degrees down 60. We decided to set up. Trolled out towards the finger. Reading marks and small pockets of bait. Lots of marks near bottom, figuring they were lakers, we dropped a rigger down. Rigger took a hit and we boated a mature king, 88 down over around 100. Trolled out to 110ish and spun around. 300 copper went off with a screamer over 90. Got that one to the boat as well, another mature. A few other releases with no one home while we were out. All hits on spoons today.

They give you a different presentation. Riggers are closer to the boat, dispys are further away and can also be adjusted to pull down and to the side away from the boat. Sometimes riggers are getting fish, other times dipsys. It’s differentiation. Both will get you deep, just in a different way.

I agree with FishingFool as far as how to start deep water trolling. My mentor told me to start with 2 riggers and 2 dipsys (I use wire on mine), master that program and add from there. I had my fair share of tangles and issues with just that... After a couple seasons I added more.

Was out this morning, launched at stony, fished finger area... Took a 26 lbs King and 2 lakers. Best water was over 135: 75 down was 48 degrees. King and 1 laker on rigger, other laker on 450 copper. All fish came on spoons.
