  1. Went out Monday from Stony launch. If you follow the channel, you won't have any problems getting out. I have a 21' Trophy that I fish out of. The guide that runs out of Stony has a Penn Yan monster that he has no issues getting out either. Follow the buoys. Channel swings closer to shore than you realize. Shallowest I seen is 4' to transducer when I go. Trans is 18" under water. Just my 2 pennies.
Now to the fishing, 2 for 3. Little skipper off dipsy with spoon. Other 2 rigger F/F. Reason lost one is hook broke. Other, salmon antics. Fished 100 fow, 70' is where we found good water temp. Fleas still a pain in ass! Need good North winds to blow them back to other end of lake! Lol! Hopefully make it back out this weekend. If it rains, definitely!!

Is that huge log still there? It was near a buoy once you came out of the channel and hit the flats. I haven’t been there in a couple weeks.

  2. I just realized that I never posted my results of Trout in the Classroom. As I mentioned before, we started with about 150 eggs.  I took around 35 students and 4 teachers to the Fishkill Creek in mid-April and released 108 Fingerlings!!! I was shocked by our numbers, I didn't think we'd get that many to survive. I'm excited to try this again!

Tried to load a video... didn't work. Will give it a go tomorrow.

  3. You could use a figure eight knot or double figure eight. Or you could double over the line and tie an overhand. Whatever will make a fat knot will do. And like Gambler said, you shouldn’t get to the bottom of the spool.

  4. You will need to find where 60-62 degrees meets the bottom. Today we were in 30-50’, the fish were 5’ down to the bottom. By next weekend they could be deeper, or in same depth, depending on winds and temps.

Is this tactic good throughout the summer or just as they move out from spring to summer.

  6. I have 3 long sleeve button down shirts for sale. 2 are Columbia, 1 Baleaf, all nylon for feeling cooler in the summer. Barely used, no stains. Size Medium, but they are big. They fit more like a Large. I'm 5'8" and 185 pounds with an athletic build and they are roomy. These are $40 shirts brand new. Asking $60 for all 3, shipped to your door.

I got bit by a tick in June last year and spent the summer on doxycycline which causes sensitivity to the sun. I no longer need these shirts and only wore them a handful of times.

  7. I'll be there on Sat morning.  I'll have ch 68 on.  I'm not real familiar with the area.

"greenboatluke", You said you when to the finger.  Where is that?  I'm trying to learn the area as I might be launching from here more often.  It's the closest to home.  Thanks.

Here’s a general idea of the area, so when you here people talking, you’ll know...

If you look closer on Navionics, you’ll see the contours of the areas.

  8. We went out of Stony Creek (near Henderson) Memorial Sunday. Started south towards drown island looking for Browns. Nothing. Heard buddies on the radio out near the finger picking up fish, headed that way... slowed in around 90 fow, found 44 degrees down about 50. Started setting and a rigger popped. First King of the season (small, teenager, released). My brother set the rigger again. While continuing setting the spread, same rigger goes again. Broke off, drag to tight, think it was another king. We were fishing 10# leaders. My buddies in 2 other boats picked up Browns and kings, and maybe a steelie.
