  1. I washed the outside of the boat today at the carwash Jim   Ed years ago the guy that made the Quick Strikes (from the Elmira area I think?) used to deliver the spoons in person tomy friend who owned a tackle shop between Geneva and Waterloo and i used to BS with him there and I bought a few dozen for about $1.75 or $2.00 each...and glad I did (1970's).my favorite is the #11 hammered silver. It is deadly for rainbows in the late Summer and Fall. Mike it was just good getting back out there and seeing that there are actually some fish and bait left in the lake :)

Les, good job - nice fish.  If you need some 22`s I`ve got a bunch of Pine Valley`s tucked away you can have from the old days.  Not a silver plate but pretty good nickel plate.  Also you mentioned Bob liked using big spoons.  I`ve got some 06`s (PV`s) he can have, nice plating also.  Just don`t use them any more.  Hop.

  2. Gary,

I haven't seen you in years, hear about you once in a while from Les. Speaking of Sk8man you really need to start commenting on his posts, members on here are starting to respect him for all his BS! Your one of the few who know his true abilities and can remember when he was just a guy not catching fish, wait, he's still one of us, I forgot, could only remember all the north versus south noise. Gary, technically aren't you from the south and you do catch nice fish! I suppose I better sign off but watch for Les to junp all over me for this clarification.

    Bob

Hope to get out with you & Les sometime this summer.

Hi Bob, great to hear from you.  Yes, been a few years.  I would like to comment on some of Sk8man`s posts, but I was taught to be respectful to my elders....  And were do you hail from, the North-West basin?  Yea, sure you guys want to get out with me, to get all my secrets!  All I`ll say is that if you want to catch a 25 year old laker, you`ve got to fish like we used to 25 years ago.  Makes perfect sense, right?  My little tin boat is 37 years old, my depth sounder (which I rarely use) is 20 years old.  I wouldn`t know what to do with all the new techno stuff.  Seriously, would be great to get together fishing.  Have you retired yet?  Take good care.  Hop

I want to thank everybody for their kind words and support.  I usually like to "fly below the radar", but decided to reply to this thread cause it kinda of involved me.  I`m sure "Polkpole" is a good guy who just wanted to express his opinion too.  Now I would like to suggest to the guy who runs this forum to think about deleting this thread and putting it in the wastebasket where it belongs.

  4. Hello.  My buddy (thanks Les)  turned me on to this website.  I`m the fella who came in second place in the derby with a 15.23 laker.  I can`t speak to the validity of what happened with the fella who came in first except to say I say him running down to the chamber to get his polygraph taken.  I assume he caught the fish according to the rules cause he passed the test.  I was also given a polygraph, and if the winner was asked the same questions I was, he either was the worlds best liar or he was telling the truth.  I chose to believe he was telling the truth.  Do I wish he didn`t make it in time for the test?  Hell yes, I wanted to win.  Bottom line, I`ve been around long enough to know that in order to be a gracious winner, a guy or gal has to know how to be a gracious loser.  I`ll be out there again next year trying to be a gracious winner.
