  1. 15 to 20 feet, Throw your jig toward shore, bounce it back toward the boat, you'll know if your in the right spot. We caught somewhere around 100 for the week, that law they have with the fish, sucks, you can only bring back one days limit across the border. don't use minnows, the only thing you'll get is pike, and big one's at that. I caught a 25 pounder on a ultra light rod, THAT WAS SOMETHING! I've got a map of that lake, i'll have to find it, tell you where to fish, those fish migrate to the same spots every year, there's a small channel on the left up by that first island, thats where you should get them this time of year. fish-on

  2. Hello, I fished big gull 5 years ago, looks to me like you stayed at the same place i did, Small cabins, Husband and wife ran the place, We stayed for a week, Hammerd the eye's on jig's with leech's, husky jerks trolled up by those islands, just before dark. If you stayed out in the dark you'd get carried off by the skeeters, wicked!! Nice to see some guy's from around here fishing there. Nice fish. fish-on!

  3. Ok, I need to buy a gps chartplotter, Give me some idea's, I had one guy tell me not to buy a lawrance, He said something about the towers not picking up your way points, I'm thinking he's wrong!! Every boat i look in has a lawrance in it. I had my mind set on one. Thanks fish-on!

  5. You had the engine rebuilt, probably high volume oil pump, or did somebody stretch the spring in the oil pump? That will cause the high oil pressure. It looks high on the gauge but it's realy not at all in the motor. should'nt hurt anything. But i'd still do a pressure check to be sure.

  6. You guy's are all right! i do have tint on the side windows, but not on the front windows, I took the curtain rails out because i did'nt want curtains, Did that before the wife seen, that it had rails and got some crazy idea of making flower curtains or something. Also my last two boats had carpet in them, I hated it. Always had to vacuum after every use. This boat has two spots where there's carpet, i'd take that out too,But have'nt figured what to replace it with. Mower, i like fingerlakes marina better than myers, you don't have the traffic like the park, idiots either. Ive been going out of there for three weeks now. Ran into a guy and his wife, very nice people, from binghamton, I think his boat was called styker3? Told him where i lived, said he could keep his boat at my house instead of hauling it all the time, He told me if he lived that close to the lake he'd get fired from his job and his wife would probably divorce him.

  7. Hi, i had the same problem with my islander too. Might sound crazy but when i bought the boat , the motor had a fram oil filter on it, It would idle at 60 psi, A buddy of mine at work is a boat mechanic, has been for over 20 years, We changed the oil and filter, put 25/40 in it, we put a mercruiser oil filter on, It changed instantly, 35 idle- 65 wide open. He said the reason why was because the fram filter constricts the oil flow to much, He told me not to ever run an automotive filter again! He said mercruiser filters were made not to restrict the flow like auto filters, for the purpose of trolling and keeps the engine cooler. ALSO he said the people that run the auto filters beware, The boats that run them tend to start running alittle hotter over time, and that causes oil slugde build up in the oil pan, you know whats next, plugged oil pump, blown motor.

  8. Made first trip this year, fished two hours caught six nice salmon, east side, let five go kept one, they were all in the 5-6 pound range, thanks to the one guy who answered my radio ckeck, I think he had a thompson hardtop, over by t-falls,very good outing for the first trip, they bit rapalas, thunderstick jrs, nk spoons, yo- zuris

  9. I just went down and looked for myself, the center dock where you load in and out was off to the right side, not quite sure what they're doing, everything else looked the same to me, I don't know what size boat you have, but some guys with the 14 footers are loading in over to uc point, mine's 22ft im going out of the old fords nextdoor to myers, looked good to me over there.
