Leadcore is a relatively cheap way to get a stealth presentation with action out there. Many days I run a 10 color down the chute and it picks up steelies and cohos when riggers aren't firing. Just watch those tight turns, don't ask me how I know lol

Agreed. Don't know him personally but that is a great story. I know you hear bad stories but as always one bad story gives a black eye to the rest. In my personal experience the Charter guys are great. I have learned everything I know from them, this site, and salmon school. Generally speaking they are great on Lake O and willing to share .

Wow that is great. Appreciate the report. Was thinking of doing some pier fishing but perhaps one last try on the boat is in order! Thanks

Wow, that is great. Heading up Fri but didn't know if it was worth launching. What depth and any certain approach?

If you are fishing browns, lose the flasher

X2.
In my opinion if you are fishing flashers (for salmon) I use heavy mono and skip the leader. It really isn't a stealth preaentation.

Okay I think I confused myself.
When you say long leads I was thinking behind the ball. Are you referring to that or the lead between FF? Thanks in advance

20 to 60 foot
Long leads
Spoons and stick baits.

Heading up for last trip this weekend. With matures heading in, is there any consistent brown fishing left? ? I've never targeted browns so was wondering if that is an option. Any tips greatly appreciated.

It's kind of like walking into a bar and saying. , " I'll have one beer" good intentions but it generally doesn't work that way. One year from today let us know how your arsenal is and I bet you could start a tackle store lol. Good luck

Various tick baits... bayrats, rapala, Smithwick
Various spoons... Michigan stingers, northern kings
A few flashers in various green patterns
Some flies.... hammer fly is an old stand by
An 11inch flasher with a Twinkie rig and meat head
X2. And add a few moonshine carbon 14 and it's a great start

Agreed that they are a bit outdated, but they do still catch kings.

With a strong North wind expected this thur/ fri, I was trying to remember what that will do to TEMPS this weekend. Does that in theory push cold water in? I realize it may not matter as much this time of year as TEMPS start to go out the window but just curious. Thanks guys

I use roemers but have used Chamberleins too. It is all what you get used to. Both are great

Clear and concise, thanks! There is a fish hawk in my future, it's just a big nut to crack at the price they are running.

Way to go!! Yeah the price is steep but the results will make you say.... man I should have bought one sooner.

I run about 5-6 feet with a duo lock swivel to main line. As above I like stinger spoons and Evil eyes. Bright colors for steelies. Gives you another chance at a fish without an extra pole. catch a lot of steelies that way but have also done well this year on kings too

Great report. Thanks and nice job!!!

cheaters have been really hot for me this year. prob about 50 % of my fish. Just remember when the rod pops, reel like crazy until you catch up to the fish. Very easy to think you missed one, only to find it sliding down the line and on slack.
