    Add auto stop to downriggers? So I had a post before trying fix my old cannon mag 10 downrigger motor. Well I had no luck. Instead of buying a new motor for $150 I found a good deal on another set of electric mag 10 tournament series riggers. Only bad part is they don't have auto stop. my old mag 10s had been upgraded with mag 20 boards for the reason of adding auto stop (I'm assuming, previous owner did it). Is there any reason why I can't swap these boards into my new mag 10s and then have auto stop on them? Below are pics of my old mag 10s with the mag 20 boards in them. Looks to me like the green ground wire may have been added by the previous owner? (Different hardware and different gauge wire then the rest of the connections)

    Chaumont Bay opening of walleye, not many other places in NY your gonna find a higher concentration of trophy size walleye.

    As far as I know only the one in New Hartford is closing for NY stores. There's a list of the ones they announced were closing if you google search. 32 stores nationwide I believe, all "underperforming" stores. Lot competition in the Utica area honestly... 3 Walmarts, Bass Pro, Runnings, Dicks, 2 Herb Philipsons, multiple local bait/tackle shops. Honestly the Gander in new Hartford was terrible anyways, prices were outrageous. The 20% off closing sale barely made it worth shopping there.

    I'm actually looking for the exact same thing, pair of single tubes with the clamp... If the OP is all set and someone had an extra pair I would be interested... pm me. EDIT: never mind I'm all set too!

    Wow yeah Cummings carries just about every type/size net there is it looks like! I'll measure my hoop and hopefully it's a standard size. Pretty reasonable prices also thanks!

    $75 for a gal of flex seal I might as well sell this net and buy a new one lol. I know Beckman is out of business so I was unsure if it was possible to get a replacement net. I suppose I could measure the hoop and try and find something else close in size.

    Landing net coating So I picked up a really nice Beckman landing net from a buddy and tried it out over the weekend. Obviously worked great my only issue is the netting is uncoated and caused me some serious headaches with trebles getting tangled and caught inside the the actual webbing. Has anyone coated an uncoated net before? I was thinking maybe trying plasti dip that's meant for handles of tools. Stuff in almost $10 a can and I figure I need 2-3 cans of it to cover the whole net. Just wanted to see if anyone has tried this before I throw money away and possible ruin a really nice net.

    If anyone is looking for something specific I plan on heading to mexico next weekend (weather permitting) to fish again and only live 10 mins from the Utica Gander Mt. Will prolly be heading there for myself later this week anyway. I have no problems picking up stuff and bringing it with me next weekend (Just FYI everything at this is Gander is no returns/refunds due to them closing). PM me

    NY State Park Camping Been to a few of the campgrounds on Lake O and looking to do some more camping/fishing this year. My only complaint is some of the campgrounds open late in terms of spring fishing (some not until mid-May) My question is can you camp at these places during their "closed" seasons? Most campgrounds with boat launches are technically closed but you can obviously enter them and launch your boat, hike, X-country ski, etc. I had someone tell me they used to go a certain state park in their RV and camp for free until the park officially opened for the season. Specifically I'm looking at Long Point state park in Chaumont Bay which doesn't open until May 18. I wanted to do a trip for browns and possibly another for opening weekend of walleye.

    Here is the insignia on the riggers... there is another sticker that says "positive ion control" looks like regular mag 10s which makes sense because that motor looks identical to mine. But $160... think I would look into getting them rebuilt before I dropped $300+ on new motors. Maybe previous owner upgraded boards to add auto stop?

    well I'm thoroughly confused now haha. I'll check the insignia on mine when I get home. I know they never came with that big "mag 20 Dt" sticker on them that's for sure. But they came with the boat so who knows.

    Here is a picture of the boards in mine... I took it so I knew where the wires would go when I re installed the motors.

    I'm pretty sure mine have that insignia but I'll have to double check to be sure. I thought the 'A' was for Auto-stop which meant the balls stop at the water line automatically which mine 100% do. Those mag 10 motors look identical to the ones I pulled out of mine though... what would happen if I put those motors in my riggers?

    I pulled both motors out and they are exactly the same. I pulled them apart (just the motor from drive assembly) and noticed one had significantly more rust/buildup on the worm gear. Unfortunately I didn't mark which motor came out of the slow rigger but I cleaned it up the best I could. Going to put them back in the riggers and test them out to see if it made a difference before I go ordering new ones.

    Mine are mag 10a as far as i know.... I bought them used so can't be 100%

    I finally got around to pulling one of the motors out, mine look slightly different than the one pictured above. Mine also have a brand/model number on them as well. Its hard to read in the picture but the info on the motor is: Bosch FPE 12V 0 103 821 157 After a quick google search seems my motors are very similar to the window motors used in some older SAAB cars. I'm going to try taking it to autozone and seeing if they can find a replacement. I can't seem to find any online? electronics are not my thing, but is it possible to pull it apart clean it up and that fix the problem?

    I don't think it's the board that's the problem with mine. It will raise the balls just very very slowly and occasionally trip the breaker. But once I reset it, it starts raising slowly again.

    Guy on eBay selling new cannon downrigger motors... but $200 each is a bit steep imo
