That's my plan. Never stayed or fished out of Catfish before. Looks like the weather is going to be on my side. Hoping for a good weekend with the family.

  2. I run wire divers every time I fish the lake after the water warms up.

For what ever reason on lake George copper out fishes everything else on the boat day in and day out. I fish the lake 2 or 3 times a week and have only had 2 or 3 days when dipseys and riggers combined caught more fish than coppers. The problem is fighting a 5lb laker on a 3 or 400 copper sucks.

I have a 300 and 400 I just put together. I was concerned running them not knowing a small laker was on a board or same with a diver having more drag than the laker. I've only been trolling for two years but I'm trying to hammer the learning curve. Catching fish new ways is half the fun.

  3. I live a few minutes from the lake and started open water fishing it last year. Ive done well with salmon. I've had limited Laker success spoons so far. One on a gambler rig with spin and glow. Only tried that once so far. Any one have luck using wire divers? I was thinking about trying mag lip on diver with gamblers on riggers.

  4. I do most of my fishing there. Spoons with purple and blue (kranx blue demon) have done well for me with the landlocks. They are making a comeback. Odd rainbow being caught also. I don't fish for bass but we messed around with a rapala flat lined while trolling 100+ftw and caught a lot of smallmouth.

  5. Typically your coppers are longer than the amount of line out for your dipsey to achieve the same depth thus your copper will be further back. As mentioned I let the copper out slow down the chute, give it time to settle and then put it on the board. It will ride high over your dipsey and into place.

Thank you. Than makes sense. When that copper has a fish on or thought to have, I go right to the center of the boat or stay to the side until the board is off ?

  6. I ran my a 300 and 400 for the first time off boards. Seemed to work well thought I had a hit but turned out to be garbage on the board. I brought it in when it got rough, started to worry about tangles. Any advice on avoiding tangles when running a rigger dipsy and board?

  7. Thanks for the info guys. I was only going for the plant just because I was thinking warm water discharge. I was hoping it was shallow enough. Should I just troll west from Selkirk. Or will the west wind push warm water east?
