As said earlier... and I have multiple pumps on my boat make sure you run pink antifreeze through any pump and all water lines, if you have an outboard engine winterization is easier if you have an I/o and you haven’t done it before get some help before you ruin the engine

i feel obligated to warn you that there are thunderstorms forecast for tonight and tomorrow, depending on the size of your boat and your ability to see the weather that could be downright dangerous to take a rain or shine approach. Water temps have been getting into the 50’s at the surface which if you end up in the water would not be good. Just be safe please the coast guard auxilliary is winding down operations on the lake for the end of season....and not too many people have been out...I moved my plans to today to avoid it...and I run a very large ocean capable 30 footer... just be safe...
That said water has been mostly clear of debris weedy in spots clear water outside the harbor bite on the south end minimal...sounded the areas shallow and deep between salt plant and ithaca and yacht club south as well minimal returns of the size I look for.

Palomar for all lures and swivels... double uni for joining all lead core to mono or fluorocarbon, haywire twist for heavy wire and a simple loop for joining all wire on dipsys... have never lost a knot...

Honestly a good climbing rope a prussic knot in paracord tied to it and a carabiner clipped to your safety harness is the best way to climb and descend safely and for 50 bucks a guy can outfit 10 stands with the setup.... these things were an interesting idea but as you say pricey... saw a guy that was trapped hanging upside down by his harness for two days...when my kids started hunting i got real particular about safety...every hunter should learn how to rig that it takes like 5 minutes for every stand...

Yeah i did too sitting on the bottom probably spawners not willing to bite

Where were you marking the larger ones

Prior to this weeks rain water was crystal clear and dropping in temp it hit below 60 this week and has risen back up currently to 61-62 near ithaca at buoy. Weeds can be a problem floating in patches... but frequent storms have been clearing them out so no huge buildups ive found except around power plant south can be hit and miss. Good luck

Will also say they are getting kind of less interested due to the spawn, have moved well south ... hit riggers and deep dipsy down 90-100 saw some nice ones sitting down 120-130 so prepare to go deep, havent found salmon or bows last couple weeks they have moved around... good luck

The fish are excellent to eat my customers rave about them.... and we love them too....
You will find browns where 55 degrees hits bottom...so a fishhawk probe for 150 that you can drop down will record temps in five degree increments to tell you the temp that particular day,..
you can get salmon jigging but easier trolling even then this time of year can be challenge...
Saturday was a rough day for me we only landed 7 lost four at back of boat temps and thermocline is breaking up I was reading temps above 50 at 100 feet previous week thermocline was set well at 70 below that dropped into the 40s fast.. that will move the fish around..
