I use inline boards with zero issues. 30 lb power pro. TX 44s definitely replace plastic pin with metal one. Spin 4 or 5 times. Use stock front clip. On OR12 I use the red release on the back. Put line behind pin spin 4 or 5 times. I use the snapper Release on the front. Leave a little slack in the line so the tattle flag will work. Insert braid in jaws of release and wrap around once and snap jaws closed. Have never had this method slip.

  2. We got a bit of a late start  and headed out of the shute at 7 am and sat down in 60 ft. of water and started setting things up. Not much at all on the graph as we headed out on a north westerly troll into around 280-320 fow with an
occasional mark here and there. We picked up 2 very small kings that we put back to grow, but still no bait to be seen. Once past the small flock of boats we decided to head back in to somewhat shallower water just to see if we could mark anything. Ran into about 90 ft of water and the bait started showing up more than we seen all morning and just then the port side dipsey started to scream and we picked up our first nice king of the day about 17 lbs. on a habanero spoon 175 back on a 3 setting. Got that one in the box and shortly the starboard rigger popped and was ripping line very nicely although that one was not to be, after a short fight it was just gone!! grrr!! Did nothing wrong that I know of just got off. another 2 hrs. went buy and finally the port side dipsey with a flasher fly combo went off and the fight was back on. This guy wasn't so lucky and after a really nice fight we boated him too. Frog spin dr. with a pro-am fly 220 back on a number 1 setting. Marked several more bait pods the rest of the afternoon but it was somewhat of a grind with only one more good release that was gone as soon as it hit and my partner was the one that dropped that fish so I felt better about the first one. Over all it was a beautiful day, overcast with a light breeze and calm waters. The bite could have been better but we had a great time with 2 nice kings in the box to show for our efforts. So I've had better days and much worse days on the lake and can't wait to get back out there again.

  4. No,  same settings on the diver... for example.  If  a dipsy on #1 setting is reaching 50 ft. figure a SD on #1 setting is reaching 45'.  with the same amount of line out.  This is with comparable size rings.   Keep in mind that this is only a guess.  I intend to attach a Fish Hawk TD and do some experimenting.  you want to attach the diver to the mono.  and do not go past the knot  into the braid

as it could get hung up on the knot. I usually attach the diver to the mono about a foot or so from the knot.  an Albright knot is good for attaching braid to mono or wire to mono and is about the smallest size knot you can tie.

  5. I am no expert on slide divers but I have used them and have put fish in the boat.  The lite bites are extremely useful when there are a lot of small fish that wont trip the conventional slide diver.  I have yet to find an accurate chart for the stock slide diver using 30 lb braid.  There is some info on their website as to the depth using other weights and lines.  I basically go off of a dipsy dive chart and subtract about 10% as the theory is the SD dont run quite as deep.  I run mine as a high diver out side the deeper dipsy on a 3 or 4 setting with the dipsy on a 1 setting.  I have been using 30 lb braid as mentioned but may have to go to wire when fleas get bad. You are better off using braid or wire instead of mono to avoid the stretch associated with mono.  any stretch makes it difficult to trip the diver.   I use a 30' to 50' section of 40 lb big game mono at the end of the braid for the diver to run on.  A bead is used to keep the diver off of the knot of a swivel thats attached to a 7' 30lb fluro leader. a flasher fly combo was deadly when i was on lake O. in mid May but you can run about any lure or spoon off of them.  Hope this helps a little

  6. I also do not have a speed/temp system but that is on the next to get list .  I have clipped a fish hawk TD to a rigger ball

mainly to find the desired water temp but it certainly will tell you what depth you are acheiving.  Depending on the weight of your ball you should be able to see the depth the ball is running on your sonar.   I'm running 12 lb fish and can typically see where they are running down to about 60' or more before blowback pushes them out of the cone of the sonar.

  7. With a plastic box I got at Wal-Mart, I cut a piece of hi density foam that fit the container tightly. The marker lines are where I cut the slots. For pro troll and other similar flashers use just a strip of foam in the middle where the bent part of the flasher is on each side of the strip. Clear silicone can be used to hold the foam in place. Each box will hold 10 to 12 flashers.1527639613722

  8. Came up with a way to make a spoon box that practically costs nothing. I used hi density packing foam that came in strips 3" wide and a plastic ice cream container that had a lid that snapped on. After getting the correct length, I folded the foam back and forth and crammed it into the plastic box, trimming off the excess. This will hold approx. 45 spoons. 5 per fold.20180526_140351.jpg20180526_140612.jpg20180526_140644.jpg20180529_195018.jpg
