  1. I think ur right about laumchin out of sandy, clark.  Its a hike from mexico and last weekend the only fish I really marked were out at the dunes.  Went out in front of high rockw and plants in my normal areas any where from 120-200 and hardly marked a fish
Not sure if I’ll make it out tomarrow.  Seein conflicting weather reports.  Some say scattered showers. Others heavy rain and Lightning.  I dont do lightning.

Thanks to all on this site has been a great help!  I plan on fishing Mexico Bay August 20 - 25, never fished there before usually fished out of Henderson.  Any pointers as best place to launch and best place to start would be appreciated. Thanks!

Best pointer I could give u.  Stay checkin up on this site.  I will be out every weekend from next week till the salmon make the run up the river. I post durring and after every trip as do a whole buncch of us fishing out of mexico. Last year,  last two weeks of August was a crazy meat bite.  80-100fow of water And guys putting 15-20matures on deck a trip was pretty common.

  4. Got a question and wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the app.
Everytime I open lake ontario united in my web browser, it opens in the app and flips trou a bunch of pages then after waiting 2-3 min it says “open in safari” or “cancel”. Which I open in safari and go on with my bussiness.  If I close it out I have to go trou all that again.

So I would like to delete the app, but if I do will that delete my Name and Profile.

This is probaly a question for a site moderator,  but I dont want to risk loosin my Name on here and have to make a new one.

    Thanks

    Mike

  5. I always ran a chute copper on my trophy 2460. When I hooked up On another rod I would stick the rod up on the rocket launcher and It kept the line out of the water For 100ft or so   it was easy to fight  a fish down the chute with the copper still out.
With my baha i switched to inline boards and I’m Pullin 400copper with FF On a walleye board

Absolutely Love em. So much better them a rod down the chite IMO

  6. In Pa if ur born aft 1980or 81. U have to take the boater saftey class to run personal watercraft or 20hp+. When I bought my trophy 5years ago the wife and I took the class not just to Be LEGAL but also learn a thing or two.  My cuddy door is always open and the Life jackets are readily available. But now there gonna b under captains chair. Even more readily avaible. Only other safty device besides a throw ring I need is a flair gun.

This thread really hit home for me becouse that very simply could have been me. Offshore, I think we were the last two boats out there Saturday.  I fished in front of the dunes and seen one boat out to the west In 100fow area when I was headin in at 9ish   I could have hit what u did and I’m not sure how things would have turned out.

  7. Absolutely incredible.  Thank you for ur story.  I for one Am gonna start goin over that situation on my boat with my wife and anyone on board.  Thinkin now.  Maybe my life jackets in the cuddy isnt such a good idea.  They need to be readily avaible.  Life ring is goin to be attached to the side  And u mentioned about ur pup is normally on board.  Hachimo can’t swim and he would surely not survive.  I ordered two dog life jackets for him and my shepherd and they will always go on when were motoring out and in.

Sharing your story may save a life someday.

  8. Lol. I am extremely good aimin that thing.  And just so happens ur camper may be in the line of site every trip out:clap:

before I mounted it I took it over my neighbors farm. He got a crop damage permit for the deer so he kills one a week and donates the meat. I let him use it.  He set it outside and spotlighted deer and used the remote to move it while he was scoping them out.  Lol. Worked great for him.

Your gonna need to jack up the radar on a mount extension or put the spot light off the bow. The light would impare the signal at least a little and in exactly the wrong place (forward). Ive seen others with them right off the bow, granted a remote turning system would be needed if you want to aim it.

Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Thanks kevin. It has a remote control. Light is awesome. Goes up,down ,left, right  I picked it up at gander outdoors goin out of bussiness sale for $80.  Retail on it was just under $400.
I hd it on the bow of my trophy and it worked good but so much nicer on the hardtop shinning down on the water.  I’m thinkin maybe lost a lures idea with raising the radar.  Thanks fellas

  10. This maybe a stupid question but just courious. So I’m selling the trophy 2460. And my favorite item on it was the Stryker remote spotlight. This past weekend I fished the little salmon river derby and left in the dark and almost ended in disaster cause I could not see.  Tried navigating with my gps map, but it is to slow and almost took out a few docks.
I want to mount the stryker on the center of my hardtop on the baha 280. But my radar dome is there.  If I mounted the light would it block the radar?
    I appreciate any feedback

    thanks fellas.

  11. Get the hell out of here.  I arrived to the news of coast gaurd out of the port last night first thing this morning.  Its a gut wrenching feeling.  Even worse when u find out its someone u worked with while fishing.  Thank god you and your family is alright.  I’m sorry u lost such a beautiful boat.  Your season dont have to be over thou. I have an entirely way to big Of a boat for just me and the wife.  Please jump on with Us any weekend.

I seen a 16ish aluminum boat with small outboard flipped over at the mexico point launch this morning on my way out and in. I thought that was the boat that went down at night. But There was a mayday call out at 8ish last night as well but I didnt get a location on it or I would have tried to help.

  12. Only fished an hour.  1to2ft waves.  Yea right.  More 2-4 or 3-6.  Pretty rough out there and the wife and dogs had enough bouncing around.  Went 2/2.  Dipseys out 220 2nd setting with spoons. Nbk mag and standard salmon viagra took the hits. Boat ran great. Amazing what 1 out of 3 batteries can cause when they go bad.  Screen was loaded with fish like it was yesterday morning.  Wish my riggers were working yesterday on shootout day:headbang:
