I'll keep this short and sweet and if this post isn't allowed please feel to remove it.

I am thinking about unloading my 2001 StarCraft Fishmaster 1961 because my friend that I fished with on Seneca bought his own rig and my son is really getting into bass fishing.  The boat is in extremely good shape (needs vinyl floor replaced and some carpet).  It has the Mercruiser 3.0 that is extremely fuel efficient.  I have 2 Walker Electric Auto Stops and the boat is rigged with a Fish Hawk X4, Garmin 73DV at the console, Garmin Striker 4 on Bow, MinnKota 24V Powerdrive V2 on the bow.  All of the upholstery has been replaced (including the removable seats by the I/O enclosure) and there are 4 new as of last year Captain Chairs.  there is a swim ladder and I do have an enclosure for the console area as well.  AM/FM/BT receiver with 4 speakers and a Marine Radio and antenna.  My father in law WAS (retired this year) the marine mechanic at our local marine since 1975 and knows these Merc/Mercruiser products like the back of his hand.  It was maintained by him since new and I am the 2nd owner.  I will make it  a point to take pictures and such if there are any interested parties.  If you want to reach out by phone DM me and I will provide my cell number there.  I will also put the boat for sale in the boats for sale forum.

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Any pics? Price?

  3. Hit the ontario for first time this year went east out of I/bay, figured on getting some browns, set the first down rigger turned around to get second rigger then suddenly I hear the drag screaming on the first rod after a lively fight a nice king come to the boat! After that we had problems getting the hook set missing about 6 or 7  of the boards. Towards the end another nice one hit the rigger after some jumps and runs towards the boat and one of the wildest netting jobs i ever seen another nice king got in the boat. Every time you went to net him he would dive down and under boat, had to shut motor off couple times with line close to propeller. Spoons on the riggers bayrats on the boards. Fished in 8- 25 fow. Spring kings are awesome!

You got to get there a lot earlier than 830 I would suggest 6 AM and that could possibly be late as the daylight gets earlier every day

Yeah I know, at this point work keeps me at home till 700 and again in the evening. I dream of someday hopefully fishing, and trolling Ontario before the sun is up!

Reeltrout, my son and I were thinking of going to oneida at some point soon. We even got permission from the boss (wife) to play hooky from work/school. Any suggestions for access? Where did you go out of if you don't mind me asking? North shore or south? Had a couple spots in mind but wasn't sure how parking is. Looks like chapman is quick access to deeper water. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah we walked out from Lewis Point. Parking lot was almost full when we got there at 8:30 on a Tuesday. Not to bad of a walk, just walked out to where other tents were. Thinking of trying it myself again. Good luck!

Lewis pt is a great place to start. Jigging Rapala's, rotjaw, moonshine's shiver minnow. Natural colors can't go wrong with most days. Firetiger, glow perch are a good choice as well. Get some buckeye minnows rip them in half and put the head in the treble hook. I use the tail also. Godfrey pt is also a good place with a great tackle store as well. Hope this help's good luck. What is the deal with the collage access on Keuka?

Thanks a lot for the info. I don't really know what the deal is by the college. It really sucks. I seen someone come out from there the other day. probably the worst thing that would happen is you get a notice on your windshield.

  8.  Thinking of going to Oneida for walleye tomorrow for the first time. Was wondering what for lures and techniques to use? Not looking for anyone's hot spots, just wondering how to get started. FOW to start? Just jigging or would it be worth setting tipups?

  9. Yeah I don't know what in the world the deal is. We always used to go out from there. Went there last Thursday there was one guy out and there was a card on his windshield we didnt go out, ice didn't look the greatest. Went past Sunday stopped just to take a look there was 2 guys out both had a card on windshield. Today we went out from east side via permission, walked a mile down lake straight across from college 1 fish each, multiple lookers. 10-12 inch ice about 4 inch white ice. Going to try again in morning.

  10. Talked to my buddy, he said Tuesday there was still a strip of open water right in front of college from shore to shore about a 1/4 mile wide. Then Wednesday morning it was closed up. So there is probably thin ice in front of college yet! My plan is to go out to 25 fow from Penn Yan tomorrow.

Whats going on in keuka for lakers? Collage or the park? Ice?

Not sure, I was fishing Penn Yan end with tipups Monday, 8 inch ice there. Was ice as far as I could see, a few tents were a ways out. I would think it has to be about good by college but don't take my word for it. Planning to go take a look tomorrow.
