  1. Water salt and borax all you need. Bit of liquid bluing if you want to shine up the scales on the strips a bit more. Meat will take fish all year after all every lure we fish were trying to imitate a alewife or smelt. That being said it tends to shine more once the water sets up in summer
  2. Check out Hotfish new 10” custom fish flashers. The action on these is second to none. Their new this year but had the pleasure of using them last year in the testing phase. You won’t be disappointed. Built right in Owen Sound Ontario
  3. Brand new to the market this season!! Hotfish custom flashers built and designed by renowned Georgian Bay charter captain Tony R. DeGasperis. These new flashers are not like the rest. The action is second to none!! Check out Hotfish.ca for details!!
  4. Yeah I’m in canada so ordering bands from him just isn’t feasible or I would for sure. A guy at the dock give me a bunch to try and we were impressed. Wasn’t sure on size I just know they broke around 4.3-4.5 lbs of pressure.
  5. The bands seem to really drive the hook home while the fish struggles to break em as legacy as mentioned. Never tried the chamberlains tho. Will have to give it a whirl
  6. Are you able to ship to canada? Not sure what the additional cost would be. I’m interested for sure
  7. Yes as sk8man says it’s more for smaller fish when they hit. I’ve also spoke with a few charter captains and they say it gets them better hook up ratios as well but who knows in that one. I fish northern Lake Huron 3/4 of the time so dragging pinks around without knowing is a real issue. Thanks again legacy for the tips!! Theirs a pretty good read on this topic if you go to Michigan angler.com. John King does some pretty good experiments and explains bands further!!
  8. Hey everyone. I’m wondering what guys are using for band sizes on their blacks style releases. I’ve been told 16s?
  9. Thanks for the tips guys. Much appreciated. I also like em a bit on lighter side just not tripping so often. I personally find the hookups better with the zero stretch of wire. Just wasn’t sure if guys were using certain amount of pounds to release them.
  10. Hey guys. Just wondering how guys figure out the proper tension for their wire dipsys. Seems I’ll get false trips in rough water or it’s set too tight and is hard as heck to release. Any info would be appreciated. I’m running Dreamweaver deeper divers in the 107 and 124 sizes. I run blacks releases for riggers and set them around 5lbs as the bands I use break roughly at 4.5lbs.
  11. Hey thanks legacy!! These look great. Any ideas where you could get em in canada. The shipping to get em here is steep from the USA !!!
  12. Hey guys. Just wondering what guys are using to replace their treble hooks on reg and mag spoons. Makes? Sizes?
  13. Timmins Ontario fish the south shore of manitoulin island as well as Lake Ontario out of bluffers
