Email to Lowrance Lowrance 7 elite hdi I am attempting to hook up a Garmin TR1 AP. From Garmin site "The two types are RS-232 and RS-422. If you are unsure as to which standard your GPS device utilizes, please consult with the manufacturer." Which type is used. Tyvm Response Is this your only chart plotter? are you using the Elite as your GPS source? Your garmin should be the GPS source. When we connect to VHF radios we use RS-422. Can anyone clarify? Anyone that's familiar with garmin TR1 Gold? Can the compass ball be installed in cubby or does it need to have a line of sight. The instruction just say to keep it away from instruments/compass/anchor. Also can this unit operate without tach or throttle actuator hooked up? Obviously it would lack speed control feature. I've had this setup for a couple years and havent checked to see if that update was installed. If that doesnt help I'll look more into placement. It's a slotted bracket so it looks like if I adjust angle either way it's not gunna be right. Any recommendations on a a transducer for a lowrance elite 7 hdi. Mostly for salmon fishin 60 to 100 fow. I currently have the one that came w it but I'm having issues of it losing my depth.
