  1. That is usually my goal. Lol. Lately been having trouble finding those so have to resort to alternative methods!!
  2. Thanks everyone for the great advice! I am trying to get more dialed in with my spread/presentation in the hopes of having a little bit more success and less long days with no hook ups. Hopefully. Lol. Much appreciate all the input.
  3. Just curious as to what temp range most people prefer to set their riggers at. I seem to shoot for around 48-50 degrees but got a king in 55 degree water on Monday so wondering if I should work my spread in a little warmer temps. I appreciate any input. I know this is not an exact science but trying to learn a bit more to be a better salmon fisherman. Thanks for any input.
  4. So, put a full day in yesterday out of Mexico bay. Lines in around 8am and fished till 8pm. Went 1 for 2 lol. Caught a nice 12lb salmon in around 300' on a 300 copper with flasher fly. Trolled into 120' and found a pocket of cool water west of nuke plant. Had a downrigger go about 80' down and saw a monster salmon start thrashing on the surface. Long story short, it bent the hook out and came off. Good way to end the day. Mostly a blank screen all day but was super calm and a beautiful day to be on the water. Ended with an awesome sunset. Fleas were not terrible but definitely had to be dealt with. Tight lines..
  5. Thanks for info. Gonna give it a go and see what happens!!
  6. Might be making a trip to Mexico bay Monday to try for some salmon, browns, or whatever will hit. Wondering if it is worth the two hour trip. I appreciate any reports. Will be launching out of the state park if I make the trip. Thanks and tight lines.
  7. The struggle is real. Took a 2 hour drive to fish mexico bay. Fished 7-7 with zero results. Fished stacked up on the bottom in about 100' in front of little salmon. Would not hit anything. Cooler water temps heading west in front of power plant but did not change things. Couple lookers, no takers. Got to wash my spoons, FF's, and J plugs though. Lol. Probably my last trip for the year there. Not worth the drive. Good luck rest of the season all. Gonna fish brook trout until hunting season instead.
  8. Wondering if anyone has any reports/ updates for Mexico Bay or Henderson area. Hoping to get out on Monday. It will probably be my last time out so want to make the two hour drive if it is worth it. Thanks for any info.
