  1. I live on the lake between Braddocks..closer to Long Pond Channel. In my 13 years here, I've had high waves....but nothing like we're expecting in the next few hours. I pray for my neighbors and I , that we all survive the 11 to 14 footers we are expected to get......................Steve

  2. Hi, I just changed out my Diawa47LCs to 4 Shimano600LCs loaded with 20# big game and 8' 6" Medium Action rods. Question: Can I use 20# Braid for a leader, since it has the size of 6# Mono? How effective would this set-up be? Thanks in advance for any input! Steve..............

  3. I agree with mcf. I live on Lake Ontario, and I too have a Superfisherman all rigged. The only problem is the lake changes QUICK and we have to get in fast! I have a 2 Stroke 75 hp on mine and it could use some more horses! I don't like trailering, so I have my Pennyan docked at a marina at the oak. and dock the Starcraft at home. I equiped mine with two Cannons, a fishfinder, planer board set - up,(by the way, the in-line boards work better with the smaller boat, and a fishawk, along with a marine radio!!!!Try to retain the seats and work around them the best you can. Be safe and have fun! No fish is worth a life. Steve.................

  4. I just purchased a Humminbird998c-si unit and bought the quad beam for shoot-through, but decided to thru-hull it instead. Question: can the mounting sides be ground down or should I keep them on for mounting? I am also running the 20-60 degree with the side imager on the transom. I purchased an A-B switch so I can switch between the transducers. eg:Dual beam with S.I. to quad beam only. Thanks for advice! Steve..........."1990 Pennyan Tempest"

  5. Take a magnifying glass and look at Vanish some time, and you will see variations in the thickness as you move along it. It"s JUNK! P-Line has served me well......10 to 12# in the Spring with a good reel/drag and medium/ to medium/ heavy action rod. Steve..........

  6. I will be fishing out of "The Oak" and was wondering approximate time traveling @25 mph how long a ride to: Olcott, Wilson, and Niagara River. Thanks in advance for this info! Steve......
