I didn't know about this meeting until the night before and I had to work that night. Sounds like I some big issues. Wish I was able to attend. To bad there can't be a list you can sign up for to get posts in an email on its stuff. Hope we figure this stuff out quickly!!

Going up to Pulaski today on RT 81 North , I saw a cowl for a Merc 9.9 up by the wall in the middle . It was just before the exit for the airport. Thought someone might like to know !!

I use Blacks. Above the ball , so the ball can track better. If you load a rod up with a release of the tail of the weight you maybe steering the weight This will cause crossed cables on a small boat fishing deep

I do use it on my spoons and flies but not on any of my meat rigs. I use the salmon feast in gel and Herring formula in liquid. Usually we put some on our hands like lotion before we setup to rid any other scent from something else we may have touched. As for a hook up ratio I wouldn't say it improves numbers but it does make them attack it a bit harder than some other times and then again I have been out and some other fisherman are struggling and I am having a banner day and bigger weights. Maybe it's luck but maybe it's the scent. I also always have a old can of WD-40 in the boat as well, it's something with the fish oils they use. I hope it helps but I will never not have any and not use it when I am out I do know that.

SOG and Surface speed are not the same. Surface currents will add or subtract from the "speed over ground"

Used to get the rigger cables tangled once in a while fishing off of 9 mile in the currents. Figured out that when we loaded the rods with the release at the back of the weight , we were steering the weight . With our narrow boat that wasn't a good thing. That stopped when we moved the release above the weight.

You don't want the release below the probe. I have blacks release, probe, breakawaycable than weight I don't want the rigger pole line interfearing with the probe tracking or rubbing on it.

Was at the ELOSTA meeting last night and one of the Captians said he hooked onto one of the winter bouys from the 9Mile plant. He said it was outside of the normal bouy line in the fifties foot of water submurged. He almost got ahold of it to remove it. Hooking onto it with a riggercable wouldn't be a good thing. Thats a poular streach to troll in late Aug, I hope its removed by then.

Waiting in line all the way around the corner to launch at the Mexico Point state launch hoping the lot wasn't filled up so you had to unhitch the trailer and park in the single car spots. Miss the Grady and money prize that the old ELSO had.
