Nice report. Its funny how you remember the ones that get away and not as much the ones you get in.
-
You will like them. The fish do

Well next time a newby ask for advice , you have something to share :rofl We have all done it. Becareful not to nick the sides of the spool when cutting the line off.

The trip arms arn't made exactly the same . Where the weld is sometimes hits the plastic of the main body and won't trip. I have had to file this weld and smooth it up. Then they work like the old ones. Its always hard to loose a favorite one and have to break in a new one.

Nice!!! Hope to be up later in the week . Did you get your starting prob. fixed?
-
You don't want regular steel bolts on the dash near the compus anyway.
-
My boat is older, but I had the same starting problem. I have points and a coil. The starter solonid is susposed to send 12v to the coil when cranking. It wasn't so I had like 2v to the coil when starting which isn't enough. Your boat looks to be newer and may have a different ignition system. Just something to check if you have points and a coil.

Have an older Thompson 77 with a305 v-8 Am looking for a fuel slector switch. It goes on the tramson and switches between port and starboard tanks. The auto supply wasn't much help. The hose barbs are 3/8 and there is one hot wire and one ground going to it. Boat started up fine went to switch between tanks and fuel flow stopped. Tried the thumping on it with no luck.

My friends broke up and we didn't know it. The torn canvas and broken supports beat the hell out of the gunnels and the side of the boat. Looked like you took a claw hammer to it. don't do it.

If you arn't underpower but drifting would they still be in the right. It might be worth untangling lines to stop and throw out a bobber. If they had to fool around to not ram you.

Sent 4 linecounters out to Tuna's Reel Trouble in Luddlington MI last Thrusday . Got them back this Thursday all rebuilt and ready to go Superfast turn around. I would still be looking for the dropped screw if I tried to do it myself. He drilled the arbor of the reels and put a line pin in to keep the spool from breaking free from the shaft. The drag updates feel super smooth can't wait to get them Hooked up with a salmon.

Most charters the mate grabs the rod and hands off to the customer.
Get a pair of the 7' roller guide dipsie rods from Fish Dr.. They are sweet and my 86 yr former fishing partner could get the fish in on the wire with them.

Another thing I just thought of is not letting your fingers or thumb get into the reel between the sideplate and the level wind. A Kid that was camping next to us one yeat at 4 mile st pk did that. He was checking the lure action next to the boat on a dipsie rod and a steelhead came up and wacked it. The drag ran out crushing the end of his thumb between the sideplate and the lineguide They got the fish, but he had quite a sore thumb.

Would have loved to add the 3or4 pounds to our loc fish with the lampery still on

The floater wasn't in yet , but the steel sides are usuable. There was some stuff at the waters edge in the launch area. The lake looked a little bumpy Sat. when I was there.
BOOM....,BOOM,,,,,BOOOM,BOOM.OOOOHH,AAHH!!
