  1. Depends on where you park the wires. Mine have been great. Although my riggers have been better than usual. Nice job guys. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  2. Sean fishing the oswego pro am in a few weeks. I enjoy getting my butt whipped. Then back to cayuga till late August. Heading to the oak for the loc. Tired of playing bumper boats in oswego and Mexico the last week of Aug. Good luck to all. RR [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  3. Good one! You guys will have to drive around to find me. I think I'll camo the boat so you can't see me. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  4. I'll bring my calculator. Har har. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  5. Still have to add em slider! Lol [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  6. AGE as in meaning, experience level is what I meant. IT should remain as a LUCK tournament. but looks as you're do hard pressed to change it up so be it then, have at it. Just my opinion is all take it for what its worth , not trying to ruffle any feathers here or fur as it may. If the masses want a different scoring sytem so be it. Slider we used the points system for the first 2 Lou cups. Split changed it for the 3rd cause barny couldn't keep track! Lol. To me big fish is a derby. A tournament is a limit with points system. That's all bro. no issues. [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  7. I am a charter captain but I only fish the weekends just like everyone else. You guys whipped us last year and would have won it with either scoring system. If split wants to pool it amd go by that that's fine with me. Not trying to ruffle feathers either. I just think the scoring is more fair using the points system. No biggie. 8. Slider what does age have to do with it. I had a young boy on my team last year. He lost the first 9 fish we hooked! If I was that serious about it, I would have taken the rods instead. ?? [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  9. Yes this is for fun but its also for bragging rights. Every one fishing this is an accomplished angler. We all know its more luck to get a big fish then it is to have a limit. There is more skill involved to get your limit. Especially at the end of July. How hard is it to add up the points? Its just a more fair way to score the event and crown a true champion instead of the lucky one. We actually scored it that way the first 2 years. RR [ Post made via BlackBerry ]
  10. bump, still in the sealed plastic! Make an offer. Thanks RR
  11. I think I am in but I want to make a suggestion on the scoring. Change it to 10 points per fish and 1 point per pound like the pro am and other big tournaments. It rewards the guys that go out and get a limit, which at times can be difficult. That is more indicative of who the best guy on lake that day was and not they guy that just got lucky with 1 or 2 big fish. I'll even volunteer to come in a bit early to be the score keeper. In my opinion thats the best way to score the event. On a lighter note I thought we banned Eskimo Joe from all Cayuga lake events!!!! Just kidding! RR
  12. Had a great time with my party from Utica. We fished the Sheldrake area again looking for the same success that I had last weekend. Wires were hot out 240 to 270 for lakers. My cores were dead! The 250 copper took a bunch of salmon but most were in the 15 inch class. We did manage 1 nice salmon about 5lbs off the wire. Just couldn't keep the little ones off to get to the big ones. Riggers down 40 to 70 took its fair share of salmon and lakers too. Same program, R&R spoons off the riggers and copper, green on green off the wires. The bite went dead at noon for me. We kept plugging along though till the storms chased us off. I'll be out again on the weekend. Good fishing to all. Captain RR
  13. Happy clients make a happy captain! I worked my a$s off today. Covered in fish blood and sweat. I loved every minute of it! Took me an hour to clean up the boat! But you don't get many hot days like today. Great times. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  14. Sat took the neighborhood kid out for some searching. Guys don't waste your time in the cold water. If its not 50 degrees down 35 ft or so move till you find the temp. Lots of guys not doing a whole lot in the cold water areas. Long point was ice water on Sat. Finally found the right water and banged away. Big salmon and some nice lakers mixed in. Trent went home with a dandy 8lb salmon and he landed a 12lb laker as well. We caught many on sat. Sun I had a nice group from PA. Went back to the same area but the water was cold. Moved around till I found it and then it was non stop till 1:30. My crew ended up wailing on em for about 5 hours straight. I had 2 wires out 280 and 300 flashers and flies cranking out nice chuncky lakers. Riggers down 27, 34 and 45 were spanking big browns and big salmon. Yea the dinks were there but just had to weed thru em. Also a 2 color core and a full core were hot. My 250 copper down the chute was catching a mixed bag of nice salmon and lakers too. All r&r spoons off everything except the wires. Great day! RR [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  15. Tom is building me one for my islander. He has great prices. I'll post up some pics when its installed. He is located in the Albany area. RR [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

  17. Fri. I had a charter and we fished out of long point. 200 copoer took an 8lb brown on an nbk SS. Also did a 7lb salmon green on green 95 down. Assorted lakers south of the point in 300 fow 300 on the wires with flashers and flies. Good trip. Sunday out alone with two riggers. Parked em at 27 and 34 with black n purple r&r spoons silver cup and green with a silver cup. Hammered big salmon in 70 to 200 fow. Not a fish under 5lbs. Largest went a tad over 8lbs. Great time. Monday went back and they we gone. Only had a shirt time to fish so checked my laker honey hole and they were there. Usual stuff down 70 to 100. Good fishing. Still loads of debris and even a picnic table so be careful out there. RR [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

  23. It was a great tournament and many thanks to kevin and crew for a great time. Thursday it was pretty rough in the morning but we managed to tough it out and finally found some kings that were willing to play. So now I have a plan for big fish Friday. Hit my way points Fri morn and right off the bat got on em. We had a great day nothing but kings. Only 1 fish under 10lbs. I'm stoked for sat until I saw the fog! No radar so it was a long run to my weigh points. Finally got set up and in less than 5 min wham! Big fish on. Ended up about an 18lb Atlantic. Crap! 5 min later another screamer on. 20+ lbs at the net. Got wrapped in the 2 color core and we botched the net job. Doom and gloom sets in. Deservedly so as we only took 1 more king and it was too small to box. Done. Tournament over. we had a great time and actually had some good fishing when the weather allowed. A call to Atlantic towers and radar will be installed soon. It cost me. Can't wait to do it again. RR [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  24. Na I'm not into mounting and displaying fish mounts. Actually I've caught larger AS than that one flyfishing the Canadian maritimes. Its what we call real atlanic salmon. The ones in LO are land locks. har har. But it certainly was a thrill as he came on a slider and when I got tight to him, he jumped 6 ft in the air 10 ft behind the boat! Thanks guys. RR [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  25. To the point! I fished from Thursday thru sunday at the bar. Conditions were terrible but we caught fish and I did not target lakers. Finally got some kings on sunday as the water started to clear off the river. Mostly a good steelhead bite off the boards with stickbaits. When the salmon started to play it was an all spoon bite for us. I only took 1 coho on the fly sets. Landed this atlantic about 9am on sunday. Quite a thrill and fight. 19.5lbs certified. Congrats too the winners. They deserved the wins in the difficult conditions. RR
