  1. Might have been Abicrombie and Fitch or Orvis. He looked good I must say. nice fish too. RR
  2. Start at 50 FOW head towards the Bar. dodger flies work the best for me but spoons work too. Fish the marks cant miss them. RR
  3. I use Eagles feet on my Islander. No holes need to be drilled. 3 years no problems. http://www.tandlproducts.com/products.html I did replace the hand screws with machine bolts. RR
  4. probably! Not many perch guys on the board. RR
  5. Yup all gone and yes the lake is tooooo hi for this time of year. I had to rescue my neighbors jet ski yesterday as it had floated off the lift and was headed to Ithaca. we get a big blow and folks are going to have damage. Its about 8 inches above summer level. RR
  6. Still loads of ice as of tuesday when i drove by. dont know about the launch. RR
  7. well that answers my question Andy. i though you had an AP. Must have taken the OB. RR
  8. ya know what I do when Sean's coming my way? I move! I could pull all my stuff and send down a rigger ball, sweep behind him close and fill a tackle box in one swipe! I love that rig. she a beauty. RR
  9. Put the rigger in front of the tiller seat. Believe me. You will want to reinforce the rigger with 2 blocks of wood on each side of the seat. The rigger will rip thru the seat if you dont. If your mount is with wood backing plates on both sides an 8lb ball will be fine. RR
  10. You guys should see Sean headed up Cayuga lake with a full crew and all the rods out! Its a sight to see! Nice fish guys. Still a few more weeks for me. RR
  11. Ed i was smart and built my docks up 3ft above the summer line. Some people have them 6 inches above the summer line. If i loose dockage, then I'm likely to have some real damage to my house. lucky for me I carry flood insurance. Not just basic coverage either. i figured if I',m paying for it might as well insure the crap out of it. Thanks, RR
  12. On a 14 ft boat you might have a hard time trying to set the riggers from the back corners. RR
  13. And getting higher. It came up another 6 inches last night. If we get a blow, some folks will be loosing dockage! RR
  14. Hey Ted we did the same thing and posted it at the same time! LOL RR
  15. Try mounting a board (i used a 2 x 6) to the oar locks and then mount the riggers to the board. On my old 14 fter, the oar locks were in between the the drivers seat( tiller) and the second seat. that worked out great as either guy could set the riggers. It was easy and cheap to do. But i guess it depends where your oar locks are. Easily removable too. I was also able to mount the FF to the middle of the board as well. I used the gunwale mount downeaster rod holders and they worked great too. RR
  16. The water on Cayuga is up almost to summer levels and i expect it to go higher in the next day or so. There is loads of debris and dead heads out there. Watch out when running this weekend guys. Be safe, the water is still very cold. RR
  17. Whole!!!! I was at a place that buys them from the fishermen this winter so thats this years prices. Jumbos were 4 bucks a pound. smaller ones were 3.50 and sunnies and gills were 3 bucks a pound live weight. There were loads of fish in the bins and guys coming in off the ice selling buckets full. RR
  18. I put a home made platform on my old Islander. Look in any Marine supply company for 2 Stainless Steel L brackets and then buy some synthetic deck boards and attach them to the brackets. I was easy and I think it cost me just under 100 bucks. Swim platforms are expensive! RR
  19. Ed has it right. those die hard perch guys fish for them commercially. If you can keep 50 2lbers at 3.50 to 4 bucks a pound, thats some decent cash. and those guys are that good. They wont tell you a thing. in May I wail on em right off my dock, big ens jumbos slabs, but once the water temp gets up a bit, they take off and I'm left with the dinks for the rest of the summer. I dont bother with them after i put 2 packs of fillets in the freezer anyway. RR
  20. 20 years of experience tells me that. It depends on the weather. If it stays cold, the fishing will remain good. If it warms up fast it changes. Thats all i meant. March is a different ball game on Cayuga. I'm not saying you cant have good fishing but the game changes at least for me. different areas, different presentations. RR
  21. http://compare.ebay.com/like/2305864631 ... 602_309572 http://compare.ebay.com/like/2505110348 ... 602_304662 http://cgi.ebay.com/GRAPH-PAPER-LORANCE ... 0583160142 Dont know if any of these fit, but I had some time to kill. I have heard that Cabelas carries it but couldnt locate it on the web site.
  22. Usually the month of March is the most difficult time to fish the FL's. The fish are moving off their winter holding areas and can be tough to find in any numbers. Not to say you cant catch fish, just not the numbers you can get in the winter. RR
  23. Ya know if you guys read the reports before you went out, you might have caught some fish! Very nice LL! RR
  24. Hey Ron, We were there at the middle and end of the LOC at the camp ground. needless to say we only got out 1 day of 5! But the day we got out we smoked em out deep. I'll be back at the camp ground (Tracy bought a nice camper) this year from Wed on. Call me on the radio or stop by. RR
