  1. Booo. I studied my ass off and went to class every weekend for 10 hours for a month. I learned a lot! Also boooo I have 7 years of college and studied my ass off to get good grades and have a great decent paying job. That remark is uncalled for. Especially with the number of captains on this board. You sir, are a buffoon. RR
  2. Nice ride Andrew! I'm looking at a 24 ft North Coast. I'm really liking those boats. RR
  3. I just put a new cable on my mag5. Strip about 4ft of the coated cable and put that on the spool first. Short stops work fine if you do that. I think you are just asking for trouble by splicing it on the other cable. RR
  4. you might want to try Taylor Made, the 2 tops I've had for Islanders came from them. They make the ones that come with a new one. Other than that, nope, have to have one made by a canvas guy. RR
  5. Mono has too much stretch to release the dipsy. RR

  8. your dipsy colors are fine. I run clear, green, and glow. sometimes black or purple. The wire will really help, thats half your problem. The thumper rod Rollie talks of will help you with getting your speed correct. Good luck RR

  11. lake is rippin today. Fleas are going away but the weeds suck big time. After todays blow, they could be anywhere.
  12. It sitting in my basement and needs to go to a fellow Islander owner. Its practically brand new. I have no use for it. It comes with the frame, boot and there are all the zippers for side curtains and a back drop. Just make me a semi reasonable offer. RR
  13. 15K!!!!I bought a 94 with 70 hours on it for 10K wrecked that and bought a 2000 for 10K. It books for 7K. Nice boat though just like the one I wrecked. I really like my islander, its perfect for the finger lakes and the trips to LO. Tows very easy. RR
  14. When I dont put them in the boat and just unhook then while in the water, they take right off. I only put them in the boat during derbys or if its a monster for a pic. then I head first torpedo them. works pretty well. RR
  15. Overhand loop knot is all you need to use on the fly leader. Use a snap swivel on the rod line. simple and no issues. RR
  16. Get rid of the 8lb balls and get 12's. That will help a ton. Plus all the other stuff the guys said is right on. RR
  17. In momays defense these first 2 pics look like a basic 28 lber. The 3rd pic looks like a 30+. It can be difficult to tell poundage from a photo. Nice fish. RR
