  1. Somehow one of my sonar unit cables got cut about 10 inches above the transducer. Is it possible to splice everything back together. I was thinking of taking the time and rejoining all the wires and then shrink tubing it. Will this work? I figured Id ask before I buy a new transducer. Thanks

  2. Headed up to Quinte at 1:30 am on thursday in hope to fish all day thursday-monday. Broke down (water pump) north of watertown at 3am and waited at a nice and easy until a tow truck could pick me and the landshark lund up at 8am. Towed me to a garge fixed it. was back on the rd by noon and 300 dollars later. Spent thurs night just relaxing and prepping for thursday. Fished with my local buddy up there and we boated a few fish and tried "one last troll" in a different area. 900 series reef runner with 2 oz of snap weight 50 ft above the leader and 160ft off the board. We were fishing in 35 fow when I figured the lure finally got hung. I was correct, hung inside a 13.2 lb mouth of a yellow bellied sabre toothed shad eating machine. :D The fish was 32.25 inches long and had a girth just over 18.5 inches. I spent the next 3 days working one area. Between my boat and the partner boat we managed about 20 fish. 3 over 11lbs a couple over 10 alot in the 9's. and so on and son on. I think I have one trip left in me up there. I absolutely love it there. The chance to get a trophy like this one.

  3. LMAO, i thought the same thing Billy. You know you are going to have issues when you make the cook the 2nd in charge of the helicoptor. It was very entertaining to me though. I'm hooked. For those of you who werent able to see it, here is a schedule of the 1st episode and the new 1 will be this coming friday at 9pm. http://animal.discovery.com/tv-schedule ... 90.35214.1

Now we need to start disectiing the crew and figure who on the LOU is who on the Sea Shephef. Who wants to get it started ? ;)

  4. i dont know i - bay that well. my advice is find any rocky points (if there are any) and cast in close 2-3 fow. using floating stickbaits that have a good rattle and can be casted far. slow retreives with pauses. make the lure erratic

  5. I've been having a wicked Bay Of Quinte itch that needed to be scratched. Friday I posted on a canadian forum that if there was anyone who needed a seat filled for the weekend , that I was in. Later that morning I received a pm from a guy who said him and another fella were going to fish a 2 day Walleye touranment up there and they could use 1. That was all I needed to hear. I hashed out the details with the guy and I hit the road at 2am on saturday.

I made it to Canuck customs at about 430 am and it was quicker than going through the drive thru at McD's. "Where are you from?" "Where you heading?" "Have a good time and drive safe" This took less than 30 seconds. Arrived at Picton ON around 6am and grabbed some breakfast since the tourney blast off was at 8am. Arrived at the marina and met up with my partners for the next 2 days of fishing. SUPER guys. 1 of them has some quinte experience and the owner of the boat had caught 1 walleye in his life. There were some nice rigs that were in this tourney. My best estimate on number of boats is 30+. It was a 120 entry fee per boat. We fished out of a 17.5ft tracker targa.

Day 1 came to an end and like I said we were sitting in 3rd. I had planned on getting a hotel but one of the fellas was watching over his grandads house in the area so he offered me a place to stay. The 3 of grabbed a few brews and ordered a pizza and devised our plan for the next day. We had from 7am-3pm to make up a little ground. There were some really good fisherman in the event. Alot of well knownn locals as well as alot of charter captains. We were the"lil" guys with the only american in the mix. :D We set sail and hoped for the best. We ended up winning the event. The tourney paid the top 3 fish of each day and then the overall winner. We took 3rd first day and the overall. The last picture is of a 14.2lb MONSTER that another boat landed on day 2 but fortunate for us they didnt hit a single fish on day 1. This was just a "get my feet wet" trip for me. I plan on spending a whole week up there in the coming month because the fishing only gets better.
