First I gotta get down there and I definetly gotta get more set-ups. Have only one down rigger and no wire rods or dipsey set-ups. I do have an old seth green rig my dad gave me and I would love to catch something on that. I gotta a lot to learn and a long way to get there. But I still manage to have fun, but don't get out enough for sure. Thanks everyone for the tips I will try and see what's in my wallet for some new gear. Good fishing!

I guess I should have went Brian. Sounds like you guys had a great time and finished well. Congrats to all! I took my grandson to Honeoye Fish and Game club kids clinic had a great time. Managed to make it out today at Conesus and iced a 35 incher. Weighed it at 9 lbs, but fish chart says it should have been around 11-12 lbs. Only fish and flag all day. Had great time though.

Tim, I have an 8 inch Strikemaster for about 15 years, great machine blades around $30.00. I wouldn't part with it.

What I have read and makes sense, is 10% of HP per hour. Thus a 350 hp motor gets about 3.5 mpg. Your 305 sounds about right for mpg I would think. Just my 2 pennies!

I would say for sure your tank needs to run vented. Should have a vent cap or air supply somewhere. I had same issues, when I ran my vent cap tight on my motor. Loosened vent cap and problem gone. Also previous post issues with leaking lines.

Just bought a used boat and have kicker plate mounted. Is there mounting kits out there to that tie the two motors together. Previous owner had rod hooked from lower fin of motor to fin of kicker. Any ideas out there? Thanks

My son-in-law paid $8.50 a dozen for pike minnows. That is BS. Man this vhs syndrome has cut into many peoples wallets, including mine. I say mother nature just taking it's coarse, to little to late. Can't convince me that making this bait safe will save our fisheries. I see the good and bad points with this. Mostly bad.

I have had alot of luck in the past using Johnson weedless silver or brass colored spoon with a piece of pork rind on the end. This worked best when the lily pads got up later in the year. I would cast it deep into the lily pads and slowly skip it from pad to pad. This drives pike wild, the first hole you hit hang on. Don't set hook fast or you'll miss. Just my two cents.
