November 1 pm 42 degrees Insane west winds becoming West wind 5-15 Partly cloudy Well like I said I had no plans on hunting today and working late but that weather forecast go to me. Hunt the weather! Those crazy winds looked to be calming down for a pm sit so I snuck out early and was in the stand about 415ish. About 430 or so I had a doe sneak behind the stand. She was followed closely by a stud of a buck. 20 yards broadside on my left side but no chance of getting a shot off. Just too thick in there so I watch him disappear. Trailing close behind them was a 1.5 year old. I jumped on the grunt tube thinking maybe we had a big breeding party but didn't notice any others. After that I am jumpy. I'm watching my left side and over my left shoulder closely. About 5, I notice a deer walking out into the field. 40 yards or so. Shooter. He turns and walks right to me. He actually let me grab the bow, stand up, and turn. I let an arrow fly once he is quartering away. I see the arrow hit and then go flying. I wacked him and he broke it off. He ran off about fifty yards. He stopped and stood in front of my camera. He let the camera get some nice shots. He very slowly walked out into the middle of the field and slowly walked almost back to where he came out. Giant, slow circle. He then turned and trotted down the field about 75 yards and disappeared into the woods. All the evidence makes me feel good about the shot. Looking forward to a sleepless night. update... Just got home. Walked the blood trail. Heavy, heavy blood without an exit hole. At least one lung because it was all over the field. Found him. Right where I last saw him go into the woods and still alive. Barely. Walked up on him and he very slowly got up and walked into the thickest part of the neighbors property. Hes toasted. My best guess is liver and one lung. My plan is to go there in the morning. I probably should have just waited until morning and he would have been dead right where i last saw him. Im at the mercy of coyotes now.

Well I had zero intention of hunting today. But with the updated forecast and the wind slowly dying down I changed my plans quickly. Got into the stand a little after four. Five minutes in I noticed a doe followed by a big mature buck followed by a young buck a few minutes later. Twenty yards and no shot. Just too thick to responsibly throw an arrow that way. Well I woke up this morning at six assuming today's weather hadn't changed and today was a complete wash out. Wrong! Rain doesn't look like it will hit here until 11ish. I had to take my clothes out of the washer and throw them in the dryer. Totally not expecting to hunt this morning. Full throttle and managed to get in the stand by 7. October 30 pm 54 degrees NE wind 5-15 becoming calm Cloudy Good sit this pm. Past on two borderline bucks. One bumped the fawns that were bedded by me. He then bedded there for two hours. About 535 I noticed a buck in the adjacent field. Put glass on him and realized he was decent. I watched as he worked a scrape on the field edge. After he was finished he made his way down the field and into the woods but headed in my direction. I gave him 10 minutes or so to pop out into my field but he didn't. So I did a 10-15 second rattling sequence and waited. Ten minutes later he popped out of the woods and walked to my tree. Amazing how keen their sense of hearing really is. He got a pass. Big body and well outside the ears but lacked height. Probably 110" or so. Great experience to say the least. It's game on! Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Been on stand since 3. Sat down and noticed 2 fawns bedded 30-40 yards away. No idea how they didn't notice me. 20 minutes later 2 5 year old buck bumps them of their beds. And now he is bedded where the doe fawn was bedded. His head is behind a tree and all I see is body. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

October 30 am 48 degrees NW wind 5 mph Cloudy skies Good morning to be in the woods. Pretty sure I bumped a mature buck this morning walking in. Giant body and he absolutely stunk. Too darker to see a rack. 15 deer or so. 7 bucks total this morning including another mature buck around 9 or so. Two episodes of minor chasing. Covered up in deer this morning. Bumped a rutted up, stinky buck on the walk in. Acorns are dropping like crazy. I never realized how many mature oaks were actually in here. I learning now that I should have hung a stand here sooner than this year. No doubt I overlooked it. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
