October 29 pm 66 degrees WSW wind 5-7 mph Partly sunny Warm sit. One of the warmest this season so far. Mature buck sighting about 515ish but otherwise really quiet until after sunset. Saw another 15 deer mostly does/fawns but one small buck. Bumped a few other on the walk out also. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

October 29 am 44 degrees SW wind 5-15 Clear skies Very uneventful morning. Literally nothing but one squirrel this morning. Checked both cameras for the first time this year on this property and they are still both showing most of the activity is in the pm. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

October 28 pm 61 degrees ESE wind 5 mph Partly sunny Perfect wind for my swamp stand. Except for the stand visit from that half racked buck and followed by his return chasing a doe it was quiet. It was great to see some chasing though. Deer sighting were non existent else where. Nothing in the fields. Didn't even see a deer on the ride home. Well looks like the grind starts now. Finished a big job today and have a much lighter schedule then I have had since May. Still plenty of work to keep me busy but at a realistic pace. Looking forward to some dedicated time in the woods. Since the start of the season I have rarely had a chance to hunt AMs and PM's in the same day. I have actually had very few am sits at all. Wife isn't looking forward to it... She was notified last night. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Regulation change to steelhead limit on Lake Ontario
Legacy replied to reelxite's topic in Open Lake Discussion
There is some confusion on regulation changes... Regulation changes are sometimes put out for comment based on suggestion and not always by scientific means. I think too many people just assume that these and all regulation changes are due to years of scientific study in some secret laboratory in Albany. There are not. They are ideas. If I had to guess I would say half of the ideas for changes dont even begin with a person employed in any of the major agencies. So that would mean that both hunting and fishing regulation changes are the product of sportsman. Do you think antler restriction was something the NYSDEC wanted? No. Hunters wanted that. Not science. They were changes that a small interest group wanted. Nothing else. Unfortunately these things tend to act more as a democracy than a republic and the bigger voice gets heard. -

October 26 pm 51 degrees NE 5-15 mph Party cloudy Great night weather wise to be in a tree. Deer movement however was pretty slow. I did rattle in a young buck at dusk. A quick 30-40 sequence and he came trotting in on a line. I almost got tag by a skunk on the way out. It was certainly exciting to get chased by a skunk in the dark while in knee high weeds. Regulation change to steelhead limit on Lake Ontario

So now because I'm a fisherman my opinion has no merit. That's awesome. Last time I checked these were fishing regulation changes... And the talk was regarding managing a sport fishery. Yes fishing... My statement is not anti NYSDEC, I have many friends there. I trust science, feel free to show me the science to back up any claim you have and I will gladly look at it. I distrust politicians and deceptive individuals. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
