Be prepared to be stopped at the border, and pull all fish out of any container so they can be Identified, and if you mention a slot lake, measurements will be taken, it would be best to have them whole, after that is done you get to repackage them at your leisure. ☹️

I have been stopped at the border twice by the MNR for inspection since the slot limit. I asked them the preferred method for transporting fish, and they were happy with what I had (1 fish per bag with skin on). The only improvement they suggested was to freeze with filets next to each other skin side up instead of meat to meat to show that there were no smaller fish between the filets. They did not indicate a preference for transporting whole fish.

  2. Had a pretty good week. I know a few LOU members fish this lake. Best June fishing for me in a few years. Only had one rain out day all week. Ate fish every day and 2 guys brought home a limit. Most fish caught fell within the slot limit. I will be back up there in September and hope the fishing will still be as good.20170607_122351.jpg

  3. So are you saying that there is no color but silver in a white perch? Unlike the picture sk8man posted? I would still say white bass, but I was fishing too shallow for walleye and won't be going back in that far tomorrow to prove myself right or wrong.
