  1. Sounds like fun!!. ....uggg

It is not that complicated.  If you want to see the equipment we use and are in the Rochester area, I can give you some spoons to get you started because they don't make Pfleuger 4's anymore.  The key is trolling slow and be on the bottom.  If you are not on the bottom you are wasting your time.  My family has always kind of trolled and jigged the spoon as we were trolling to get more action.  We have fished for 30+ years this way on the East side of Canandaigua Lake south of the Christian Camp to the next point south in 30-40' of water.  We never even had a depth finder.  Just went between one point to the next point.  Right now is a killer time to go.  As the water warms they get out deeper.

  2. Thank you for answering my question!

Here is the site I got my info from:
    https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-declares-state-emergency-eight-counties-impacted-lake-ontario-flooding

Here is the part depicting what is required:
The Governor also directed the Commissioner of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to implement a 5 mile per hour speed limit, where the Commissioner finds it appropriate, to control wakes along the Lake Ontario shoreline in the affected counties as part of the state's ongoing response to coastal flooding in the region. Beginning today, vessels operating within 1,000 feet of shore, unless otherwise directed by a County Declaration, must observe a 5 mile per hour speed limit to reduce impacts to shoreline residences and infrastructure caused by wave action and to promote safe boating. The no wake zone does not apply to communities along the St. Lawrence River.

  3. Are you serious with that crap? Climate change has been around forever. Call it global warming please. I know that's what you really mean. Did you know we've had a couple ice ages? Yup, the earth had to get warm first to have the second one. The atmoworks in "cycles". May e more people should learn about it rather than spread bull crap lies.

California and Texas went from severe drought to very wet. The mid west is under water and huge wind and rain storms are roaring from the west and the south. Climate change is here. If anyone is to blame, it is the policians who were warned about it, but for political purposes chose to deny what was obvious for years.
Lake Ontario isn’t exempt. It is easy to blame Cuomo or the Great Lakes Consortium. The truth is that we have ourselves to blame. Think of climate change when you get to the voting booth

  4. I would certainly believe that Sandy Creek would be the last place to hang out since hardly nobody is boating out there. Waste of money. He wanted me to pull over at the state launch to talk to me about my wake and told him to follow me up to the marina. I wasnt pulling into that underwater launch. He said its 1000' now, I thought it was 300' and with 2 ' waves from the west, I told him I'd come in at 10 mph everytime to not hit the jetty. He inspected me and left.
They really didnt have any answers for any questions we had.
Again, I'm not sure who would order them to sit at a deserted underwater launch with 4 boats fishing. Yet I go over the Ibay bridge everyday and many are going fast, have your pick...smh

  5. We did the best 70-80' today. We did have a couple lulls, but the rest of the time was busy. 50' down, 250 copper and 150 divers.

Fished in front of Sandy this morning until around noon. Bite was sporadic for me as was the graph. Tried depths from 50 fow and 20-30 down out to 150 fow and 50-80 down. The best for us was 100-120 fow and 55-75 down. Went something like 8-11ish with a couple lakers, a steelie and the rest kings.

Left my longer junk lines home anticipating a more shallow bite but got 1 laker on a 5 color. Couple salmon on riggers, but the slide divers did most of the work. All came on Stinger spoons and in the UV flavor. Inmate Orange, Green Alewife, Seasick Waddler, and good old Caddyshack bailing me out again. Not on my picture taking game today either......IMG952019052695081105839.thumb.jpeg.0f40cdc7029bfe6a7a1544f56d3f32d1.jpeg20190526_103345.thumb.jpeg.a8ea6312af39fc0a5dca0f80916bd699.jpeg

  6. We did our fish 80-130 before the weather and 50-65 after. 30-40 down all day. Good job.

Using small boat tactics , Went out first light . One heck of a scum  line at 50 ft . Fish were just outside of it . Went 8 for 11 . All salmon but 1 Laker .
    A few teen size .

Fish were 25 to 65 ft down for me

    Die hard  was best .

  7. I doubt it, 5 mph restriction wnot do crap and nobody will want to go in there anyways with the 5 mph restriction. I know a couple guys at south point that may not leave the dock because it would take them over an hour to get to the lake.

  8. So now I have to give those slime balls a massage?!?!?!? I don't even give my wife one!

No.  Fizzing is different.  To burp a laker, flip it on its back and run your thumbs from its lower belly towards its mouth applying slight pressure.  This will push the air out of them so they do not struggle to go back down.  I have never put them on a clip on the rigger to send them back.  If you get all the air out, they go back down quickly.  Sometimes you can watch them go back down on the fish finder.
