  1. Stop in at Screwy Louies and ask them what would be a good depth to find the browns. Also, ask at the boat launch for advise on where to fish for browns.

  2. It's been a while since I've used Cannon Manual downriggers but if I remember correctly,there is a clutch/ brake system on the handle. When you want to let the weight down, slowly (until you get used to it) turn the handle backwards and the clutch will let the weight down. One word of advise, when you get the weight to your desired depth, take one hand and hold the spool tight and give the handle a little extra crank to make sure the clutch doesn't let any extra cable out.

    I should also have asked you what you want to fish for so we can give you ideas on lures.
