  1. We fished the Niagara river on Saturday and my son Chris landed this 34 inch 16 lb. Steelie. Unfortunately, she had already dropped her eggs or she would have been heavier. The fish is going to the taxidermist!

  2. I agree with Seasquirrel. I've had Zero problems with my Scotties and I've never heard of anyone breaking a belt. A tackle shop in Fairhaven that works on a couple different brands of downriggers told me that he rarely ever gets a Scotty rigger in for repair. He highly recommended them!

  3. You're gonna get mixed answers on scent. I personally won't let anyone touch my lures if they have any foreign smell on their hands (suntan lotion, food, fuel etc) without washing their hands first. I keep no-scent hand soap on board for washing hands. Does it help? I don't know but it can't hurt!

  4. Like Ray said, "Test your soil." I've been planting foodplots for years and the single most important thing to do is test your soil. Without giving your foodplot the nutrients it needs and not what you think it needs you will just be wasting your money. The one thing I learned is when it comes to liming your fields, it was a LOT cheaper to have someone do it for me and a lot less agrivation. DON'T skimp on the lime!!!!!!!

    Good luck,

  5. For the record, I voted for the 3 rod rule. Will I run an extra rod for each person on the boat if it goes through? Probably not. I normally run a 6 rod spread whether there is 3 people on my boat or 5 people. The only time I would run 3 rods per person (if the law changed) is when there is only 2 people on my boat. I seriously doubt everyone would start running 3 rods per person just because they can. Just my opinion.
